As of this past weekend, the Harrisburg and Hershey area have gotten anywhere from 12-15" of rain. The flood stage for the Susquehana near Harrisburg is 17', the water is now 22' and expected to crest on Sat at 29'. They are evacuating everyone as far back as 2nd st right now and expect the water to rise 3' to 4' on 2nd st. Also the Swatara Creek in Hershey is at major flood stage also. The flood stage in Hershey is 7', they expect it to crest on Sat. at 27'. Hershey Park was under fire on Wednesday as the park flooded and they had some of the animals at Zoo America drown and some they shot before they drowned also. The current records are from Hurricane Agnes in 1972 with the crest at 32' and they expect this weekend to be as bad. Some parts of the major Highways are closed around Harrisburg including RT 22-322, RT 81 & RT 78. Big Penn State game on Sat., this should be interesting.

Our daughter and son-in-law's 150 year old farm house completely flooded out. It's never happened before - not even in Agnes. They raise deer for a hobby. The penned in deer area got flooded and they had to let the deer run wild. Five of the deer came back home today - I guess they got hungry!

Wow Bergy - that is intense. Hope your kids recover from the flood. Those old houses can have impressive foundations. Glad to hear the deer came home.
