Does anybody have or remember any information about the Jungle Jim and Bill Grumpy Jenkins giveaway go-karts from around 1974 era? Today I just picked up a vintage Vega go-kart locally. Unfortunately the body has been repainted several times, but from what I can determine it was molded in Hugger Orange. I have identified the chassis as being the correct Rupp chassis which is correct for the giveaway karts.
Where I live and where the go-kart was bought (West Chester, PA) is less than 15 minutes from Jungle Jim's old house and about the same from Grumpy's shop. The guy I bought it from said the motor he took off of it had a number 7 on it. Whether it is or not, I thought it was a cool piece so hope you guys enjoy it.

Dan, I would pay $20 to see you ride it! Carrying it under your arm doesn't count.

Is it a TT-500? I had one in 1969, 5 horse, 2-speeds, dark blue. It was quite fast for a 13 year old kid, but not as fast as my dart cart with a mac 101a. Memories......

On another board, someone has the "Jungle Jim" Vega with the top cut off. There was also apparently a Vega kart (same as the Jungle Jim car) made with the "Black Magic" paint scheme.

If some here can wants to make the body's .We can pull a mold from mine i share .. A motion mini vega would take Motion Mini car's to a even smaller scale ...
I think i will make it into a Grumpy's Toy to go with His old pit scooter i bought from him a few years back ..

I'm in the process of doing a frame-off restoration on the Rupp.
When I get it done, I'll bring it to your house and ride it for that $20 you're gonna owe me.

I won a cart from McDonalds at the county fair when I was a kid. Had a AMC Gremlin body. Broke my leg on that damn thing.

My brother Jim owned that particular kart body a while back. When he had it the body was still in need of repair. He would have sold it from our house in Honey Brook or Coatesville.

picked up this Mercedes Benz "jeep bodied" cart with a 2spd trans and a 2.5 hp. It didn't take long to blow it up and then back half it, add an 11hp and cut the rear drive from a 6" sprocket to a 2", hence appropriately nick-named Death Mobile. the kid added an extra kill switch but says it still needs better brakes before he drives it again! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/naughty.gif

Yes, a 73. He had previously owned it. After he sold it, he had liked it so much he went looking for a similar car. Answering an add for one, he was surprised to see that it was his old Vette. He bought it, and the rest as they say, "is history"...
