View Full Version : 69 Firebird Parts Prices

I recently bought a bunch of 69 Firebird parts from an estate. There are quite a few rare pieces and I had originally planned to put the parts I did not need on Ebay to sell them. A local Pontiac guy heard about the parts and wants to buy a few of the pieces. I'd like to be fair with him but I am under the impression that he wants to "steal" the parts from me.
I thought if I asked here and could show him the responses, it will help us come up with a price if we are in the same ballpark.
I've ran out of space on this post so I will make a new post with the list of parts.

Here is a list of the parts that he is interested in that I do not have a solid idea on value:
1) ZK code nodular axle, heavy duty 4 pin posi. Originally 3.90:1, now 3.55.
2) Original 69 stack and tach gauge setup. Very nice originals with dash and underhood wiring harnesses
3) Original 400 hood, good original condition
4) 69 disc brake setup with 2 piece rotors, nice originals
5) Quick ratio steering setup
6) Convertible top mechanism, nice original, complete
Any input would be greatly appreciated,
Jason

Thanks for the reply. Those prices are close to what I was thinking for value. I did not know about the stack gauges since the repops came out.
Thanks again,
Jason

Stack gauges I would say slightly higher than that. Reproductions are easy to spot. Impossibile to find.

That's very accurate and reasonable on those prices. The stack gauges and in-dash tach are VERY hard to find. As stated, everything is reproduced now, so while demand has gone down, the prices for originals have not.
Nice find though, congrats! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/beers.gif

I talked to the local guy who wanted the parts. I gave him reasonable prices since I would not have to clean and market the parts. He told me I was crazy. Looks like its auction time if I can't find the car the parts came out of. It was a 69 400 4 speed convertible, blue on blue.
Thanks again guys,
Jason

Post some pics of the gauges, I would love to see them. They are the ultimate in gauge package parts finds.

Happy birthday Matt! Here are some pictures. The wiring is stored away but its not too exciting to look at anyway.

832's are usually betweem 500-800 depending on the date. Never seen one go for 1000.

That's a nice dash! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif
Big thing with the Bird dashes is to have one where the radio area wasn't hacked out at some point over the past 40+ years for an aftermarket radio. Yours looks intact (that's the horizontal plastic in the radio hole area). The rectangular cutout between the tach and wiper switch is for the power top switch. All Firebirds had 160 mph speedos.
The entire dash, along with the gauges, are all reproduced now, but of course people will pay a premium for original GM stuff as opposed to the cheap Taiwanese crap that parts houses sell now.
I passed on a setup exactly like this for $200 around 10 years ago. And in fact the guy took the dash to swap meets and there were no takers! Now of course they're worth a bit of money, as 69 Birds are selling for $30K-$75K at auction, and Trans Am's went from $30K cars to $80K cars in about 5 years.

Thanks for all the input guys. I posted a bunch of the parts on Ebay. As I said earlier, this post was not meant to be a classified ad. If posting the link to the ebay ad here is inapproapriate and it needs to be removed I completely understand. That said, here is a link to the parts for those who want to see how close they were to current value:
