Found this old 1978 pic of my 69 RS and my Dad's brand new 1978 Z/28.
I talked him into buying it off the Chevy Dearler's showroom floor. The new Z/28's were a big deal back then. At the time, I had never driven a car that handled so good, and it was pretty quick. He had the dealer add Trans Am wheel flares. We didn't know back then that the next year's Z/28 would come that way on the front, and by 1980 all Z/28 wheel wells had the flares. The thing that now kills me the most is he traded his 1971 Challenger RT 383 Magnum in on the Camaro. But by then, the Challenger was a poor running, 100,000 mile, used up (me and my brother), gas hog, smoking, old used car (but could still beat almost anything in town).
