Nice Al,
I hadn't seen that before. Looks like " ET ET" on the door.
Marlin - what have you got on this one?

Thar ET on the door was a speed shop that sponsored that car The ET shop

Almost looks like the name "Bud Schmidt" is painted on the door above the ET lettering.. I love the slicks and the slotted mags on that car.. That car really looks good...
Almost looks like your car Sam but in green...

Robert Schmidt original owner "little deuce coupe". Was in FLA. sold it, bought a red one. Bought back the green one. Sold the red one. I have the red one. Roberts back in IL. So's the green deuce. Still looks like that.
Very nice gentleman. He's been at multiple reunions. I'm still working on him to bring the car.

If Robert is in Illinois, that is very close to the MCACN show. Bob Ashton - let's get Robert to <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-size: 23pt"> <span style="text-decoration: underline"> <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="color: #006600">get this Deuce to the show!</span></span></span></span>

The ET Shop was on Cicero Avenue about a mile from Nickey Chevrolet. It was in business at the same location into the 90's. Ed

The ET shop was on Belmont ave in Chicago then moved to a Goodyear dealer on Grand just east of Harlem and then opened a second shop in Addison. They used to sponsor my Chevelle. I do not remember them being on Cicero The Chevy shop was on Cicero

I remember the car. He probably raced in a bracket class called Run Tuff Eliminator "RTE"

Don't remember what class he raced in. I know there are some pics in the archives here of it. On the hood he had little in front of the deuce decal and coupe after it.
I think he's in the Rockford area. I had his nbr somewhere. Just not sure where.

Schoneye's got the story nailed. I recall have 2 pictures of this car with the wheels up (no jack stands!), somewhere......

A car just like that was at a local car show this month, real window sticker, yenko docs, etc. License plate reads as 'a real one' I think. I dont live that far from oswego, it has to be the same car. Fully restored and perfect. I will post some pictures soon of it that I took. Nice to see some past history of it on this thread.

That's where I am at - never seen the car at any events locally here or even heard about it - would love to know more if it is local here.

I don't think Robert has restored the car. I think it's still a race car. He and his wife were at Joliet. I visited with them for a little while. I don't think he ever gets the car out. I'm fairly sure he is in Rockford as they have family there. I would bet that he will be at the MCACN.

There is a green one like this race car which is owned by a retired Aurora police officer. He had it at the SuperCar Reunion at Joliet in the show area.

The Aurora officer (Dan) is a very cool guy - who can forget his famous Christmas card one year: him hangin out the window of his Deuce with a Santa hat on - smoking the tires like they're free!

No Sam. Not with the car. Just walking through enjoying the show.
Officer Dan is truly one of the good guys in the hobby. He's got some "interesting" stories, and has in the past shown up with some outstanding lady friends. I believe he's married now.

Danny's owned that Deuce now for 35-40 years. I know he's known of the car since day one. It's cool to hear him tell of every mark, nut, and bolt on the car and what has been done to it over the years. The slapper bars were installed by the first owner and there they are today. He has done the car right all these years. One of the best guys around.

Nice shots Rick, Bob, Steven. Boy, that was a "highly" optioned Deuce. Did you notice the make of the Yenko-added gauges?

I didn't post any pics. Just asking Bob about the car. If it is the one I am thinking of it is not real. But it is in fact a very, very nicely done car.

my camera died (even though wife said it was 'charged') by the time I got to the motion camaro. If anyone would know, its darren, so odds are its not a real car. Car was an automatic, black interior. I saw no display of paperwork, but it was in section called the best of the best. So who knows....
