Most of you have probably only seen this car on the cover of High Performance Pontiac, and a few others at the GM Natl's. I am fortunate to be located near Harrisburg where Wilson lives and I have seen the car at various shows, but today I saw it again at a local show in Mechanicsburg and it is now sporting the original G70-14 Goodyear tires that were on the car when his father bought it and the Fenton wheels that his father purchased to replace the org wheels and dog dish caps.

Awesome car and history. I do hope he isnt actually driving at speed on those 42 year old tires, and that he is just using them for display only. They are four hand grenades waiting to explode. They do look great though.

Believe it or not Steve he is driving the car with them on right now, he was probably 20 minutes from the show. The car has 430 gears and he said he does not exceed 55 MPH. He normally has someone follow hin on the highway so no one comes up on him too quick for driving too slow. The tires are in incredible shape.

Visually they may look perfect, but on a molecular level, that rubber is not really functioning like tire rubber anymore. Seriously, I would not drive faster than 20 mph on those tires. Due to the age, when they let go it will be without any warning, and catastrophic. That car is too valuable to risk at any speed on those tires.

I have the original owner 40 year old Firestone Parnelli Jones L60s on the back of my Charger at the moment. I have gone to the local cruise night a time or two, five miles from my house and didnt go over 25 with them. They look nice but they are like round rocks.

Choice!

(too true about those tires - wouldn't chuck the meats, but wouldn't drive on 'em either).

I saw the car with the son and dad and I think the car is cool[the story is cool too]. Paul

The tires themselves are worth too much to drive anywhere on them, much less the fact that the car could be damaged.

I love this car, too. What a beast.
