I am trying to find out the correct fan belt for my 70 Deuce. The only thing it runs is the alternator, water pump and smog pump. Can someone tell me the correct length and possibly the correct GM code for this belt. Many thanks

Hi Al. Welcome. Which Deuce do you have? I don't have access to my Deuce right now, but one of the other gurus will chime in.

Hi Sam (is that right)
Thanks for the welcome. I have a Fathom Blue Deuce just like yours in the picture. Bought it brand new in 1970 here in Va from Colonial Chevrolet.

Thanks Sam. I love the car and all the great memories and shows that we have done and still do with it. Sure is fun to talk about the car and the story of Yenko to sooooooo many people who have read about our cars but have never seen one in person.
Not to mention how much fun it is to still drive it and play with the young guys at the traffic lights with their "rice rockets". They always want to race and shake their heads in disbelief when this 40 year old car leaves them in the dust. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/3gears.gif

The show in Pittsburgh is the Pittsburgh Vintage Gran Prix, held at Schenley Park, every year. Huge show with actual vintage race cars on a closed circuit in the park. You can check it out if you Google, PVGP

Al, try this site. http://www.gastanks.com/1970/products/531/ It is Quanta restoration and they make beautiful reproductions of belts for most GM cars complete with the part number and GM stampings.

My book shows
3953786 44 inches for 8cyl exc Big Block.
70 Camaro and Nova the same.

But the 44 inch belt will only fit a 350 LT-1 that does not have the A.I.R. smog pump. Benn there and tried it with a 44 inch belt. The books need to be revised for the correct belt which should be either 46 1/2 or 47 inches long. Thanks for the comment.

Closest thing is see is 539130. Thats a 47.5 inch belt

3937790 is a 45.5 inch belt

These are all of of my GM parts book dated 1977.
The above belts are Nova and Camaro 396.

I think that the books just don't address the right belt for this car. It is probably listed as the belt for a '68 or '69 Camaro with this engine setup. I have measured around all the pulleys and it has to be something less than a 47 inch belt but 44 inches is way too short. At 47 inches, the alternator is adjusted at full tension bolt position and 44 inches will only fit around the fan and water pump, won't even come close to going around the smog pump pulley too.
