Here is my 1969 Camaro Day 2 project. I got this car a few years ago and decided to do some work on it this year. We are almost finished with the car, but here are some preview pics. Its an original 01B X22 Rallye Green/Black deluxe car. The car has its original sheet metal, tinted glass, old 1970s roll cage, and early to mid 1970s Candy Apple Red paint. When I got the car, it was painted yellow under the hood and the under carriage. Although it was very nostelgic it looked absolutely hidious. We took the body off the car repainted everything, rebuilt the driveline, and some interior restoration. The car basically sits the way it has since the 70s.

Are those pearl stripes in the paint? If so, those are cool!

I don't know the race history of the car yet. I know the car came into PA in 1979, but was just over the border into Ohio before that. The paint and the way the car was dates back to prior to 1979.

Which part of Ohio?? A painter out of Cadiz Ohio(down near Wheeling W.Va-right across the PA border) , Tom Whitlatch was big into candy paint and those style of "buried" stripes. He painted a 69 Camaro in candy red with stripes somewhat similar to those but that car was tubbed.Tom's own Corvette won best paint at the 5000 car Street machine Nat's in 1978. PID was our "home track"

You car kinda reminds me of this cover car on Car Craft with those chrome Moroso valve covers, big block and red candy paint. Very good color scheme. Nothing is better than candy paints and lot's of chrome.

I have a phone number of another guy that had the car, but its been disconnected. I'm still searching. The stripes are buried, they are hard to see at different angles. They are like a pearl/metallic orange and they look really good with the candy paint.

Got the car to get a quick picture before the snow fell this past weekend. Getting close to finishing up. Sorry didn't get the rear window trim finished yet.

Interior. A lot of original pieces. Original deluxe interior, dash, etc. The car has to use standard panels w/o arm rests to clear the roll cage. Original compfort grip wheel and was a 4 speed.

That car ROCKS.

The PID and Keystone stickers are the pièces de ré·sis·tance.
