I know eastwood makes a product called trim black. I used it on my 69 and it seems to be complete match and look correct in my eye but im not a 100 point car owner or restorer

Probably the same can-o-worms we get into over the tail panels on the Camaros. Some say gloss; some say 90%, some vote for satin, .......... even a few say FLAT! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/dunno.gif Good luck getting a definitive answer!!! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/crazy.gif
Here is a photo of my 69 with original tail panel paint. The gloss level is that of the black paint accent paint on the tail lamp bezels and tail panel mouldings. It would be easier to tell with a contrasting car color, but this should help.

My black '69. I agree with Woj that the tail panel sheen matches the bezel trim black portion....

guys I'm not ready for the tail panel paint yet, but thanks for the replys.
I'm trying to get the correct black for the two tail panel trim peices. so I can let the trim man know.
he has the black mixed for mopars (pic is above)
do you think it looks the same as Phil or Sam's trim peices?

Donnie, I redid mine a few years ago and did the tailight bezels as well. To be honest I can't really remember what I used, but it may come to me. Believe it was some type of a semi-gloss??? Will try to get some pictures for you tomorrow.

I went out tonight Donnie and took a bunch of pics. Can’t get a lot of good light at the back of the car unfortunately even with a utility light behind the camera. I will see if daylight tomorrow will help as there is a window near the back of the car.
Due to the poor light it was necessary to use the flash which can distort things a bit especially being that close. For example, mine shows to be a little "richer" Black than the Dodge??? I’ve done some cropping with one comparison picture showing the full width of the best shot I got and the other using the same shot but cropping out the flash reflection as best I could. Mine is more straight on as the angle shots I took like the Dodge just did not turn out.
I have a feeling I might have used Eastwood Underhood Black, but can’t be 100% on that. Hope this helps a bit pal.

Got some pics with some light in the garage and no flash. Unfortunately the colours still do not come out too accurate????? Think it would have to be outside in the daylight to get a true indication. Probably not much help Donnie, but we tried <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/dunno.gif

Do any of you think the black on the lower section of the dash and glove box door is the same paint they used on the back panel between the taillights? It would be the fastest way to do it. Dustin

the paint on the lower dash has more gloss.
