Wow, what a great story, the 65 Impala SS 396, 4 speed was a fast car,and beautiful too,, this same model was also my first car.
it brings back a lot of good memories, thanks for posting this.

I've been trying to do the same thing looking for the '64 Impala SS 327 my dad used to have... It was black on black SS bucket seat 4 speed car .. vin# 41447T242434 ... He sold it in 1970 so it's probably a pipe dream search.. but stranger things have happened.. I would love to see him with his old ride again but time seems to be against it... For all I know that old car is recycled material by now..... <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/frown.gif . Online searching the vin has been nothing but a dead end.
