View Full Version : Thanks everyone

I just want to say thanks to everyone that either brought cars or attended. Without all of you the show doesn't exist. It is not cheap to ship a car across country and I think we had cars from 27 States ? I think that is a result of word spreading and the people understanding what we are trying to accomplish. It is a celebration of the best musclecars in the world in one place and the feeling you get when seeing them all is amazing. You know you witnessed and were part of something special. Looking down a row of 15 ZL1's is something none of us has ever done before. 8 1970 L78 Camaros ? amazing...The row of 70 Chevelles. All the Motion cars and especially the Rally Green Camaro that I have wanted to see for years. Seeing Joel Rosen having a great time for the second year in a row. Joel hadn't seen some of those cars since he built them. Seeing Grumpy Jenkins. He looked so grumpy I didn't want to bother him but he was there signing autographs for hours and hours.
Me and the other MCACN partners were pretty busy all weekend and I know I didn't really have a chance to look at all the cars like I would have liked to. I also met a bunch of people from this site and will remember 1/3 of them due to a crappy talent for remembering names and the hectic weekend. Next year I want to have SYC name stickers with the name they use here on the site and their real names. I nominate Cumby for it. Don't let us forget next year.
When Bob Ashton told me there would be a Tucker in the lobby I thought he was nuts. This is a musclecar show. Then I saw the Tucker and it was stunning and I heard others also talking about what a beautiful car it was. It reminded me that we are all car people and it doesn't have to be a musclecar to be appreciated if it is a good car.
The Yenko.net forums are kind of the birthplace of MCACN due to most of the MCACN partners probably meeting and being members of this site. SYC will continue to support MCACN and I hope even more SYC members can attend next year. I don't really care to sit at a car show but MCACN is more than that. It is a celebration of cars, it is inside under one roof, It is close to Hotels, airports etc. It is a place for the top restoration shops in the country to show off their talents and gather more customers. Some of the resto work on display is stunning.
Again I can't thank everyone enough for being a part of MCACN. See you next year.

This was the first show that I have ever attended since being a member on this site. My head was spinning all weekend! There was so much to look at and so many people to talk to. I am glad that I was able to meet a ton of sYc members, and talk their ears off about cars and talents.
The popularity of the "Day-2" was awsome! Bbbenny won the bet! I guess he gets to keep the COPO? <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/cry.gif
Sorry I cut off your head Bbbenny, but the sign says it best!

I have some other good shots Charley that are in my camera in Bbbenny's trunk! My girlfriend hung out like a trooper while I was going nuts. She let me borrow her camera to take pics of what Bbbenny was going to do.

It was the first time that I've attended MCACN - I definitely won't miss it in the future! First rate job Charly & partners! I can't believe that I had to go all the way to Chicago to meet Benny (he lives 30 miles from me)!

Charley, you, Bob, Tony and the other MCACN Members should be commended for continuing to put on the best show out there, especially given the financial profile of this kind of undertaking. It's a great pleasure to participate and be a part of an event that continues to put together such high quality, ground breaking displays of cars across the brand spectrum and across the years. Keep it going and we'll keep coming back.

Charley, for you and the rest of the MCACN owners & staff, I'll be happy to do the name tags. As you mentioned, we've met so many fine folks through our association with this site, and I'm constantly amazed at the friendships we've watched develop over the years. In all honesty I feel blessed to call you all friends.
We joke, throw insults and sarcasm and generally rip each other apart on a daily basis, but when you stand back and watch all the handshakes, smiles and hugs you see at an event like this you can't help but feel it truly IS 'ALL ABOUT THE PEOPLE'!
Thanks go to Dan Vasic for twisting my arm (slightly) to bring the car again. It's always fun to be part of a great display like that. And to Bob & Vicki, Charley, Mike, Stefano, ........................ EVERYONE who believed in this show and who worked so hard to bring it to fruition, a HUGE Thank You. You have set the bar at unbelievable heights every year, and yet you always seem to clear it with ease. In my eyes that's testament to the respect you've ALL earned from the car community. And well deserved respect it is.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, ............... and we'll see everyone back in Rosemont next year for the 2012 Edition of the <span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">BEST DAMNED MUSCLECAR SHOW ON EARTH!</span> <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/flag.gif

A special thanks to anyone involved at any and levels to help support MCACN III.
It takes a huge support staff, over 200 people, the participants (more than 500) who bring their cars and other special vehicles from all corners of the country. The venders (more than 200) and of course the thousands of patrons who come together to celebrate this "one of a kind" event.
Special thanks to those who have worked long and hard to organize the spectacular special showcases as well as the special guests who participate in many different ways.
The show would not be what it is today without the <span style="font-weight: bold">sYc</span> family.
Even though I tried to scale down our commercial display so that I could spend more time with both old and new friends, as well as some very special vehicles, I still felt overwhelmed on all accounts.
You really needed to be there in person to see just how special this event actually is.
Thanks again to everyone, we couldn't have done it without you!

Cumby, I think you know that I have a fever and the. only cure is more musclecar! It was great to meet you also.
Need to put our thanks out there too. It was the first time to this show for both my Dad and me. Expectations were high headed out there, but we were still blow away!
It was nice to reconnect from friends we've made form previous SCR and also some brand new ones. Funny to see how many people on here who we still didn't connect with, even though we were both there.
My dad, "Plowman" actually put together a name tag to help people id him. Please introduce yourself if you ever run into either of us at a car show. I'm on the left and Plowman is on the right. A new friend Bob at Muscle Car Designs in the middle.

I am a little bit late in posting this reply, but I too want to thank all those involved especially Bob & Vicki Ashton.
It was my first and I enjoyed it as it was beyond belief to gather so many Factory Muscle together.
My wife cancelled last minute so I went alone hoping to meet some of you that I've corresponded with on this site. I came up a little short in that respect but had a great time even with the giant blisters on my feet. Name tags will be a must next year...
I can tell that, in the future, the hotel to stay at is the DoubleTree for after show activity. (Embassy did'nt even have PBR in the bar)
Thanks for the <span style="font-size: 11pt"><span style="color: #FF0000"><span style="font-weight: bold">GREAT SHOW..</span></span></span>

Just for the record, I will be personally twisting your Arm
each and every year..... in my opinion the MCACN`s needs to make you an honorary member with a life time invitation! I do believe that no one will ever get sick of seeing you and your Awesome Chevelle every year, I certainly will NOT. So let it be done!
