Really loved this Tucker at the entrance of the hall way.

I'm not a big fan of green but that Tucker had the most amazing color. You had to see it in person. Photos don't do it justice.

We voted this our favorite "sponsor pick" of the show. One reason was for politics......inevitably which ever muscle car we chose we were somehow connected, sold them parts, restored part of it, knew the owner, the restorer, etc, etc. The Tucker is an extraordinary car in it's own rite and was ahead of it's time plus I also loved the color so that was our pick.

I thought Verdoro Green was a Pontiac color, but I guess I was mistaken!

I find the cars and the company fascinating. The Tucker club forum is great place to waste a few hours in reading all the old research threads.

1st picture looks black, 2nd looks green....is that the same car?

FWIW.....in years past, Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale used to have a Tucker up for bids as often as not - until they instituted the 'no reserve only' policy several years ago. After that, none. This year, they are allowing reserve on some cars and whaddaya know....they have another Tucker entered!

I had never seen a Tucker in person until this year, ..... and then I saw two in a little over a month, ......... both Green. There was one at the Hunnert Car Pileup in Decatur, IL on October 8th, then I walk in to MCACN and see what I thought was the same car. Not so. I had a chance to chat with the car's caretaker in the lobby Saturday evening. The car at MCACN was the star of the movie, "Tucker, The Man and His Dream" and has Jeff Bridges' autograph on the dash. The car at the HCPU was from Wisconsin.

Like Rick said above, the cars were so far ahead of their time it's no surprise the Big 3 felt threatened.

I heard a couple of people ask (jokingly), "What's a Tucker doing at a Musclecar Show?"

Sorry folks, but I wouldn't turn away a Tucker at ANY kind of show! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/worship.gif

FWIW, he also told me they've verified 47 of the 51 cars still in existance.

Bill that car is 2 of the same car,i took the photos.
These digital cameras have automatic settings so depending on lighting, distance and angle of photo the photos sometimes look different in color.
The true color of the car is mostly represented in the back shot as i stepped back more for that shot <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

Thanks for the clarification, Danny. I know lighting and cameras can play tricks on you, especially dark colors.

As I always say, expect the unexpected when it comes to the MCACN show. This will continue to be the theme for many years to come.

Having the Tucker was great fun, and many thanks go out to the Stahl Foundation for agreeing to share this incredible car with us. When I sprung this idea on my fellow MCACN members, several thought I had lost my mind. Alas, I think we all agree that it was one of the biggest hits of the show. Besides, compare HP figures for 1948, you may be surprised!

I took only a few pics at the show, but 1/2 were of the Tucker. What a piece of history, my favorite car of the day.
