I was changing valve covers on my Nova today and noticed a wierd date code the one head was A 27 7 it is a 391 rectangular port head and the other is also a 391 but the date is 20 6. Has any body ever seen any heads like this. Its possible that maybe the month code was bad and they didnt use it but I woyld think there would be more like it.

I am guessing you have a December head where the date was miss-cast.

I would agree..this is a &quot;one year&quot; application...67 was low production for L78...I have seen a number of BB heads with casting date issues....since it's not a numbers situation, given the car it is in...don't worry...just enjoy!
