Don't ever blast the manifold. You'll never get the media fully out of the unit. Spend the $ and have a professional reskin the cast unit!

I seen one of those reskinned intake the other day I thought it looked terrible almost like someone powder coated it a silver color. This was done by one of the top name guys.

Get Seymour Brand Alumi Blast.. It is an excellent product.. I have used it on intake manifolds and it holds up excellent under high heat and even with fluids spilling on it.. I think it looks very good also...

Well I'll tell you what, years ago I took the valve covers [Cobra] off my 66 GT-350 and blasted them every way I could, sand, couple grits and even glass...still looked 'funky' like you could see every pass with the gun...I took like 15 min and did one spot , maybe 3 inches square to perfection...

Said 'this sucks' ...Took some alumina blast and fogged it over the rest of the cover and you, for a million dollars, could not tell where the glass beaded section was...and the alumina blast is MUCH more forgiving to finger prints and dust/dirt.

Alumina Blast is a gift from God.

With oil or gas on the manifold, that rattle can paint is coming right off. I've never had an issue with reskinning. Who did the manifold, John?
