----I wish I knew something about it. That would be an LS6 on my bucket list for sure. Right color combo and appears to be well done for the most part......Bill S

Nice car/truck, love the color.
I see a few minor details wrong on the car but easy to reverse.

Based on the picture it looks like it is (or was) owned by The Chev Connection which I believe is now known as House of Hardtops. I don't know anything about the vehicle but certainly know the dealer has been discussed on this board a time or two. I'd like to see a build sheet or such to accompany those matching #s.

Nice looking vehicle.

Is this the one that came out of Clements Chevrolet in Rochester, MN or am I thinking of Reggies LS6 Camino that was lost in his warehouse fire?

It is the House of Hardtops car. He got it from a friend of mine. It is the orig engine etc and a good car. This car has been in Washington State for awhile. No paperwork.

Pics from before it was restored. It had been sitting inside for awhile.

I would think that an LS6 El Camino would be pretty rare. Does anyone know how many LS6 El Caminos were produced?

Looks like a really nice car and it is defintely on my shopping list.

Thanks

----I dont know how many were made, but some Australian is hoarding a whole bunch of them. Supposed to be a very nice guy. I have heard that he has a home in Wisconsin as well. Have you made his aquaintance, Charlie???

That could not be truer. It is getting harder and harder to find cars in this shape to restore and they are sure a pleasure to restore when they are like this not too mention far less expensive.

No way to know how many were made but likely in about the same area as convertibles.

Yes, it would have originally come from the factory with chrome covers.

I thought all LS6 cars came with A.I.R. systems. The manifolds on it do not appear to have been tapped. No holes or plugs.

They did.
Based on the few pics posted,it looks like it's a mid '70 year assembly & had some incorrect parts put on it,both then & now,but all can be fixed.
1969 Master cylinder,then & now.
1969 drivers side ex. manifold.,now.
1969 engine pull hook,now.
Cowl leaf grilles,now.
Nice to see it has the correct LS-6 w/a 4:10 upper radiator hose & top radiator panel...many over look that.

All the wrong things the car has is easy to correct.
Over all a beautiful El Camino.
Should have the side post battery as well and the small circles on the dash should be black not silver, i bet it has the over the counter angled washer bottle as well as the bottle looks very bright <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

It's possible it came with an R-59 top post battery originally.
Very few did,but possible.

The car has no build sheet so we will never know what battery it really came with but i agree that some LS6 did come with R-59 if it is stated on the Build sheet.

I see that it has the AIR and chrome valve covers in the BJ pictures. When they restored it, they must have re-installed the good stuff.

HELP,
Does the TCS relay/switch get mounted on the firewall on an Automatic LS6 and on the wire gutter on a 4SPD LS6????? <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/hmmm.gif

Just wondering, as I compared pics of Danny T's (XXXBlackLs6M22) '70 LS6 Chevelle compared to this ElCamino's (before resto) pics.. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/dunno.gif

Dicky good eye, you are correct.
Should be on the Wire Gutter.
I have never seen one attached on the firewall but anything was possible back in the day<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/hmmm.gif i personally think it is incorrect also but an easy fix all the same. There was no difference in the Auto or 4 Speed in location by the way.The White LS6 in the link has the TCS switch on the wire gutter like my car does.

That's a beautiful white Elco..Great pics.
Wrong upper radiator hose for an LS-6/4:10 though, and carrying the incorrect '67-'69 production D/S ex.manifold also.

The TCS relay should be rivoted to the gutter, like the white Elco, irregardless of transmission type. They tore/fell off in time from being bumped sometimes,so a few owners just drilled the firewall.

If they ever handed out an award called, "Vehicle Most Likely To Have New Rear Tires Installed Within A Month Of Taking Delivery", I nominate the 1970 LS6 El Camino. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

Runner-up would have to be a 1969 Cuda 440. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/naughty.gif

Thanks Danny & Rick, thats where I thought it should be, but looking at the restored Silver Elky, I don't see it on the wire gutter??? (although not a great engine pic.)
