Rear Sway Bar for 1970 Nova

Happy New Year to all,
I'm looking to replace the complete rear sway bar set up on my 1970 Nova SS350,w/F41,as the original is too far gone to restore.
Would be interested in a complete system or individual pieces.

I saw one on e-bay a few days ago, it may still be on there. It looked correct and complete. It's not mine and I have no idea who the seller is or where they are located.

What part is to bad to restore? We've fixed some pretty rough ones.

Restore the one you have, you have to remember that that they only made the 70 rear bar set up for 1/2 yr and they are very hard to find complete, the 71 and 72 are different. I sold a complete set up 6 yrs ago for $1k and it was very pitted, buyer was glad just to find one, did not even care about condition as he needed it for a Deuce resto

Thank you for your replies.
The amount of rust &amp; pitting on a the bar,links,etc.is very heavy.The stampings on the brackets are not ledgible.There is a piece that broke off one of the links while removing it.All the rubber bushings are rotted.All parts have been cleaned &amp; media blasted.If restoration were possible what of the rubber bushings on one end of the links-are they available?

I've sold them for as much as $1,500 - so restore the one you have!

Don't worry about the stampings on anything, you can't see them anyway once its installed.

Fill the rust on the bars with Icing &amp; high build primer, they will look brand new when you are done.

The lower spring plates are available occassionally on ebay, although not always the precisely correct versions. These later versions were just discontinued a few years ago by GM. They can be modified to match the originals, or just swap them out when you find the original style. BTW, they are RH &amp; LH specific.

The clamp/bracket that holds the ends of the sway bar to the spring plate are/were still available by GM, they are not hard to find - bushings too. BTW, use the correct 5/16 bolts not 3/8 - even though the 3/8 size will fit easily into the holes, they will snap when you tighten them because of the sway bar stress.

The lower bushings in the vertical bars can be easily replaced with part # 31010 from Motormite (they are about $5/each!). The ID&quot; of this item is a tad too large, so just cut it down a little with a straight blade.

The upper bushings in the vertical bars are pressed in, and are not easily replacable. They don't usually wear out or deteriorate, but if yours are bad, we can find a replacement - would be a fun excercise!
