OK, so it is about time to get a lift. I have looked at several past threads on the subject, but don't remember this unit being discussed.

Anyone use one of these?:

Includes castors, approach ramps, steel jack tray etc. Most of the others want extra $ for those items.

thanks for any input.

Probably one of the #1 selling lifts. Don't know your specific needs, but it is a decent product and a good value over all.

Just make sure they have the lift in stock and not on the water. If they can't ship in 5 days, don't order from them. There are plenty of comparable choices.

Main need will be to double park. Car on top will only weigh about 2200 to 2400 lbs. as it is a tube frame alloy bodied car with few frills.

However, I still would like to be able to use if for working on cars from time to time. I realize I will need some additional accessories if I am going to be pulling wheels.

The only comment I have then, is to ask more about what you want under the lift. If you want to park an Suv or be able to walk under your stored car without ducking under the rail, the xlt or whatever they call the equivalent lift that is 1' taller, wider and longer is worth the extra cost. Provided your space can take it.

I want to know what the alloy body tube frame car is that weighs 2400 pounds...

Sounds like a car that's in my garage.

Only car I will be parking underneath is either a 69 Camaro or the smaller tube frame car, so height should not be an issue. Looking at the bendpak models, hd9 and hd as well, but by the time you add the castors, jack tray and ramps, the cost is almost double.

Don't even own an suv these days, and the only pickup is my old beater work truck that stays outside.

As for walking under it, I am only 5'7" so that isn't a huge issue. I worked in a shop for years and am used to dodging lift arms.

Anyone that has one of these Atlas models that has compared to the bendpak? I would really like your input. If there is a huge difference in quality (ie safety) I will go with a bendpak.

My only experience is with two post lifts. Not an option for where I am putting this one.

thanks again.

I've installed and handled many of the lifts out there including Bendpak and Atlas. You'll be fine with the Atlas lift.

I've mentioned this on another thread and I'll mention it here too. Most people become disappointed with the slow speed of the 110V standard power unit. I would recommed asking to upgrade to a 220V 2hp power unit. It has a bigger pump and is much faster. You can rewire the standard motor to 220v, but that isn't the same as upgrding to the 2hp pump.

Thanks Paul. That is the only thing I saw that I wasn't sure I wanted to live with. If I can upgrade to a 2hp, that would be perfect. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal getting the car up in 45 sec vs. 3 min, but I know for a fact it is a huge deal after a few years!
