Had to deal with butt deep snow may time on the 6th of Jan in IA. But today, we had to deal with dry grass fires. Rather large ones. Also had a group of Harleys ride through town. Hopefully they won't run into any of the deer chased out by the fires. There's no frost in the ground. Farmers are pulling, and putting in fences. I'm liken it, but it's pretty strange.

I remember one year around 25 years ago when the temperature was 50 degrees on new years eve and later that year, on June 20, we got snow !

It's been unreal with record setting high of 65 here yesterday, 50 at 9 PM. Haven't had to shovel yet this year. Called some snowbird friend/neighbors in FL yesterday and asked them if they wanted me to mow their yard while they were gone.

Headed to AZ next week for what I thought would be an escape from the snow and cold. Oh well, there's auctions and Pavilions.

Simply beautiful weather here in Ontario Canada too, snow on the ground but main roads dry so I'm spending the weekend enjoying my new toy and Christmas present from my sweetheart..
Did about a 300 mile run yesterday down around the lake and through some favorite roads, came upon a handful of cops on route but luckily acting like a white man when I did..
It's an RX8 Wankster 6-speed but whatever the flavor, there's nothing like torque and a stick w/ RWD and some sideways driving to make us old fellas smile and feel like the good old world still exists!.

We also had a grass fire over the weekend. Too bad I missed it as I was in Seattle. However, it was 39 and (you'll never guess....) raining! I was sicker than a dog all weekend so I did not get to enjoy it much. Meanwhile back here Annie informed me it was 64!!!

I think we hit around 62 or 63 in the Trenton area. I grabbed a cigar and a couple of beers and went out golfing. It was winter rules with lift, clean and place, but somehow I managed to shoot a 79 and that's following an 81 last Sunday to start the season! I think I used up all my good shots already this year! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/grin.gif

Last Friday it hit an official high of 70°. Cooled off a little earlier this week, but still 56° yesterday when I left work.
I took Maddie out last night around 10 PM and the temp was 42°. Then this morning we had this crap, and 17° with 20 mph winds gusting to 40! Still a few flurries out there now with about 2" on the ground and a predicted low of 12° and more wind tonite........ but back into the mid 40s this weekend. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/dunno.gif

Do you have a federal wildlife permit for that wolf <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/hmmm.gif

Maddie and I are BOTH too old for any Wild Life, ......... with or without a permit! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/grin.gif

No wolf blood that we're aware of. She's a Husky/Shepherd mix and she adopted us 11 years ago. The neighborhood kids call her "Snowdog".
