I have two cars in the US that I want transported to Kelowna BC Canada. One is from Chicago and the other from Duluth MN.

It would be sensible to pick the first car up in Chicago, the second one from Duluth and then carry on to Kelowna staying State side as long as possible.

I have been on the Reliable Carriers web site but thought there is likely another reputible company providing the same service. Sharing a load with someone else is not a problem and would definately be considered.

My time line is from the last week of April through the first week of May. Any suggestions are more than welcome.

Thanks in advance.
Cal

go with reliable. they are simply the best. great customer service. hands on. all the major auction houses use them, as do alot of people on this site. you might find it cheaper, but you wont find it better! i tried going with a cheaper open carrier to transport a car from arizona to new york. what a nightmare. a month later, the car still wasnt picked up. I called Bob from reliable, 4 days later the car was picked up. i had the drivers cell phone number and kept in touch with him the rest of the way. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

I use TFX here in Toronto.
Better rates and there Canadian and they treat your car like a jewel.
They can also do the Border Customs work for you at an extra cost.
Used them a few years back to get a car from Texas to Toronto.

As much as I hate to drive Cal, it would be tempting just so Annie and I could finally get up there to see you and Sandi. Could only do one however. Just looking for another excuse to get to BC....... <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/wink.gif

Since cell phone communication with a driver was brought up I thought I'd mention this. As of this past Jan 3rd the DOT (that's Federal) has passed a ban on the use of hand held cell phones by any commercial truck or bus driver while on the road. The fine is $2750. with an additional civil penalty to the carrier of $11,000. for allowing or encouraging it to happen.
Just thought I'd let everyone know that if you have a car transported, don't expect to be in touch with the driver as often as you wish.

Now there's a good idea Rick. Both cars have 410's so by the time you reached us you would be either deaf and/or close to dying of old age. LOL

Drove my 4.10 SS427 Impala from Mpls to Indy and back twice so I am used to it. Course that was 30 years ago! I think the 4.10's in the 55 would be the least of my worries.....

Lets talk Cal. Come to think of it, if you find a private carrier to do it we might be able to work something out with them. I need to transport a Chevelle from Seattle back to Illinois in the next couple of weeks so whoever takes yours could have a load coming back this far as well. Just thinking. I have one source I will call this morning and see if he is interested. One of the best I know of but unfortunately he is based out of Florida.

I am just south of you, and with very little arm twisting, I could be persuaded to go and drive these cars back one at a time! :-)

For any potential transporters who might be reading this thread, I just received a PM from another person and we now have one car needing picked up in Chicago, onto Duluth, MN where another can be picked up and then deliver both to Kelowna, BC. From there they could head to Seattle and pick up a car and then to Oregon for another and then possibly bring both of those back here to our shop. This way you would be covered on both out and back trips. If interested, PM me and I will put you in touch with everyone.
