Unless there's someone new out there, the results have not been all that good.

I have heard good and bad results from tachman (specifically with Dixco Deuce tachs).

I always thought mine was pretty accurate. It worked well a long time, then quit.
I don't know anyone who has sent a deuce tach anywhere that had "as new" results including the above address. I agree that it shouldn't be a big deal to fix one, but it seems to be. I'd be happy to hear of people who have had good results with these specific tachs after repair, and continuing to stay working. While it's not rocket science, it does seem to be a problem.

The only place that I have heard good results from is the guy in Virginia who advertises in Hemmings. I know of one Deuce guy who had good results from this vendor. All other vendors have received mixed feedback. Like Schoneye said, we don't know why it is so difficult - but nobody can seem to get it right. I'd like to know who the Ford and Mopar guys are using, even the Pontiac guys - it shouldn't be this hard.
In one extreme case, the repaired tach was to blame for causing an ignition issue that made the car run poorly.
