Looks like a nice car, but a bit pricey, IMO. Sits a little saggy in the rear, and it appears to have been a non-cowl hood, non-spoiler car originally or they had been replaced at some point(also my opinion). And you have to wonder what happened to the original rocker covers. Plus there are some other repop parts here and there. Looks solid, but for that price? I guess if it is genuinely a 38K mile car it should draw that kind of cash.

From CRG
•For 1968, only cars with 12-bolt axles received the valve. The C60 air conditioning option no longer caused use of the valve (though C60 cars could get the valve due to a 12-bolt axle). The one known exception is that NOR Z28's stopped using the valve midway through the 68 model and didn't begin again until mid-model year 1969.
•For 69, the valve was generally used on 12-bolt axle applications, except for JL8 equipped cars (which had disc brakes in the rear and didn't need the valve). As noted above, the 69 NOR Z28's did not use it until mid-year, in the late January / early February timeframe. Other exceptions in 69 include: some SS's and LM1's have been observed without the valve, and the valve has been observed on some drum brake 10-bolt axle cars.

Pretty car. I does look to me like those are mig plug weld in the picture behind the lft tire, that weren't ground very flat.Seems that the rt qtr to tail pan gap middle down is a bit large. Not that it couldn't be factory, but those welds don't look quite right.
It it a pretty piece. I have one like it....in a lot of pieces.

Eddie
The picture of the pad is to poor, and has to much paint on it to make a call. The trim tag looks OK but may have been off the car at some time.
The asking price is too high for the quality of the resto I see in the photos.
Agree the spoiler and hood most likley added.
Still a nice car.
Mike
All in all a much better quality than the run of the mill e-bay cars. Agreed a better pic of the stamping is needed. Probably worth the money if you like it and want it badly enough.

No one mentioned that it has a console with gauges, but no clock in the dash.

a friend of mine has an 01B z, and the vin is stamped by the oil filter. just a few picky things i noticed. the decklid was painted off the car as the bolts should be body color. the rear stripes are off, and shouldnt go all the way down inside the rear window panel. the underneath of the hood should not be body color, the line from the firewall to the cowl should not be a taped line. the rear trunk catch should be body color, and as mentioned, if the car came with guages, there should be a clock in the dash. all in all a nice car, but over priced for the restoration done.

Cowl tag is good. Would be nice to see a better pic of the engine pad and trans stampings. From what I see on the engine pad, it looks okay, but would be better to see a full pad picture.

It doesnt look like the correct spot welds on the bottom of the quarter panels. I think the body lines look terrible wrong master, why is the speedo so rusty inside of it maybe 138k miles.shouldnt it have green seat belts and looks like the lower seat trim is black not green. It sure isnt a car I would want especially at that price. It looks like a put together car to me. Its possible its number matching but I would want pictures of the car before anything was done to it.

----John,,,Standard belts would have been black. Yup, it appears that the car probably didnt have a console originally, but consoles are a nice addition. This isnt a big deal but I think the rockers should be black below the trim on this car the way its optioned on the tag.....Bill S

With Frost Green you only got black stripes not white,at least from what i have read.Plus, the rockers should also be painted black as someone already said.

Reason for picking on cars like this is because when the pricetag is $69.000 you want to be sure it is the real thing, too many people have been scammed to pay to much for a car that isn't what it is advertised as.
For this kind of money it has to be correct and well restored in to the small details.

Guys, thanks for the input on the car. I think we all agree, its a good looking car, has a few issues or concerns that is inconsistent with the price and claims. Obviously the best approach is to look at in person with a very knowlegable person and make your own conclusion, and negotiation based on what you find.
My buddy thanks everyone for their constructive input and good luck to the owner of the car.

I would not be afraid to track down the original owner on the protecto plate and ask what you can.
I took a few seconds and think he is still around
born 1951, middle name is force
dallas-richardson area
look for a date on the hood, that would be a plus if its a real ZL1 hood car, the odds are low on that.

I think the general consensus on the car is that it is not without issues and questions. Any car with such a pricetag should be void of these issues.
If you are considering a budget in the price range of this car, do yourself a favor and explore your options. Although tough to find a survivor or properly restored car, they are out there and can be found. Have patience and ask questions just like you did.
Also on another note, if you are considering a car for investment and do not have a personal preference towards green, try to pick another color as "no sale" green can be a little challenging to resell.
Good luck - we look forward to seeing your finds.
