I found this while looking on ebay I know nothing about it or its owner. What a shame!!!

The seller needs to read up on 1969 Camaro history, quote from the ad:

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">This Camaro arrived at C.D. King when all the new 1970 models were starting to appear in show rooms hence the reason for this gentleman ordering one of the last 69s. He went on a two week vacation and when he returned, he drove by the dealership and he recalled it being in the showroom beside a new 70 Camaro. Wow……what a feeling it must have been to see this brand new Glacier Blue Camaro beside the new body style 1970 model.</div></div>

On the contrary. You have a VIN so anything is possible.

Neat find and I hope someone saves the car. I think that they ALL deserve to be saved. As to the auction... they should have at least powerwashed the exterior to see what you are actually getting.

Shake hands w/ Tracker in the post above you!.
I applaud Des' GTX restoration and $ aside love how he saved the driver's door etc!.

Back to the eBay subject car;

Is there anything that indicates this was an L78 car as claimed?.

There's a member here that would probably love that dealer emblem for his original C.D. King car!.

Spring clamps removed/lost when diff was removed? Last leaf in the pack on that side remained bolted up?

I think it can be saved.......but how much is it worth? The bid is already above 1500 bucks.

This car can be saved. With parts, labor and correct motor, trans., and rear the total would be around 75,000. Glacier blue is a pretty color.

This car will sell between $3,200-3,800.

The car can be saved, and I think that above nbr is in the ball park, but it needs to be done for someone who wants to own this car. Not a spec build to make a profit on. That is not a good bet on much if any return, and could quite easily be in upside down territory. JMHO

I would bet my money that who ever buys what is left of that car will Re-Body the tags onto a 6 cylinder car.

looks like it has a bunch of the little BB nick nacks still on it, some shifter/bellcrank linkage, crossmember etc. People seem to be getting crazy $$ for that stuff lately

The car is junk, but I'd like to have the C.D.King dealer emblem, Thats where my 68 Chevelle came from. I emailed the owner. I'll see what happens.

I think it can and should be saved. It is a shame there is no paperwork on the car if it is a real L78 car but regardless I would save the car and rebuild as close to possible as to what is it believed to have been.
