Like most of you, I regret selling my first car. Back in 1983, my dad and I bought a 1967 Mustang convertible. We restored it together and in 1985 when I turned 17, it became my first car. I regretfully sold the car in 1991, and have been looking for it for the past few years. I have tried online sites, title searches, local polices searches...everything I could think of. Do you have any ideas?

When sold the car was red when a parchment deluxe interior, 289, auto, console, tilt wheel, tach and '68 rally wheels.

The VIN is 7T03C102421

I think you are doing the right thing now. Go to as many sites (Mustang in particular) and keep posting. Your perseverance will pay off. Good luck and don't forget to smell the roses along the way!

Make sure to get the Vin run through every insurance company database you can, if you've tried who carries your cars and home shop around w/ all your Vins at hand and be extra nice to anyone you talk to..
If any hits, even though they can't give you exact personal info they can tell you how long ago it was last in their system and maybe the state.?

Now tell us about Michelle Vajo?.

I'm looking through my old photo albums for some pictures to scan. I will post them when I do...pictures of the Mustang, NOT MICHELLE !

I would also archive all the auctions companies, plus it could have had a color change. So be sure to investigate any and all 1967 Convert Mustangs.

Good luck.

Always start with who you sold it to (obviously). Try and remember the city the purchaser was from. If you have a city/town your headed in the right direction. It sounds like the car was in nice shape when you sold it. Check with surrounding cities and see if you any of them hosted car shows. Local clubs will ALWAYS remember cars that attended.

The guy I sold it to, bought it to flip and sold it about two weeks later. During the DMV title search I found the address of the last titled owner (not registered owner). I sent a few letters to the address but received no reply. I guess the past owner doesn't live there anymore, doesn't know where the car is or just doesn't want to be bothered.
