I’m sorry this it such a terrible photo, but I figured I’d post since there are three of the 25 or so Bloomington Benchmark ’67 big blocks in the shot. There were two more '67 Benchmark Big Blocks in the garage behind us, but we had three outside for this impromptu photo. The two blue/blue cars are a slightly different shade of Marina Blue even though they are original paint cars. I’ve seen this with red, also. In contrast is the new ZR1 in the background.

We get a group like this together every Saturday morning here in Austin and work on whatever everyone brings. We had seven original paint, Benchmark Corvettes there along with a ’63 409/425 horse Impala, a '65 fuelie, and a '66 coupe. It’s great fun.

It's not a very pretty place where we gather, but we have a great lift and all the tools we need.

Beautiful conduit in the background. Some Saturday mornings we have 10 to 15 guys here. We've prepped many a Corvette for NCRS and Bloomington. We're all from different walks of life, but we've met here for years working on our cars. There are times when we feel that we may actually know something

We had another big group on Saturday since it was a clear, cool morning. Some of the Corvette guys brought their bikes instead of Corvettes. We still had some good stuff.

Here's a Benchmark/Top Flight '67 435 roadster.

Here's a very nice 427/390 roadster. I saw this owner at a stoplight three years ago and told him I had a '67 427. He asked me who to bring the car to for repairs. I told him about our get together every Saturday and shouted out the address. He showed up the next Saturday with his car and we spent about 20 weekends getting the car ready for NCRS judging. It scored 97% in October at the Frisco Regional at its first ever judging event. This car has the window sticker, tank sticker and POP. It has the original engine, transmission and rear. No radio, too.

The maroon/maroon fuelie roadster. We also prepared it for NCRS judging and it scored 96% at the Frisco Regional. This was the first time it was ever judged. It's a very nice original car with one repaint.

The yellow Benchmark/Top Flight 427/390 that was shown by Chris P and purchased by me in 2004. It has a new owner as of last month. Great, heavily documented car.

Chasing an electrical gremlin in a 427 Cobra. One of the guys was an Air Force mechanic and he traced the trouble with the faulty fans to a bad ground wire. Here's the 427 Cobra and a red/white Bloomington Gold, Duntov coupe that just made the 25 mile drive in.

After a few not so nice Saturday's we finally had a great day to bring some cars out.

Here's a local car and it's one of my favorites. 1966 427/425 (L72) with the original engine and the original window sticker.
The car came with factory sidepipes, red/black, two tops and we all did a frame on restoration in Leroy's garage. It took about one year, but the car scored a high Top Flight in Waco.
This car is driven fairly regularly.

Here's a nice trio of original paint, red Corvettes. The first is an amazing '67 red/black 427/435 with lots of options. It's a recent Bloomington Benchmark car with tank sticker, POP, and shippers copy. The far car is a 427/390 Benchmark '67 Corvette. The middle car is a Bloomington Survivor in all four catagories. This coupe is a base motor Corvette with sidepipes. We had to put the original paint red cars together for a photo.

Leroy's garage sure isn't a fancy place (as you can probably tell from the pictures), but it's a great place to work on our cars and we have a lift and all the tools we need. Leroy is a local Corvette and Chevy 409 guy that enjoys having us hang out behind his business on Saturday. There's a number of good restaurants to walk to for lunch.

We didn’t have our typical Saturday get together as one of the guys acquired a ’66 Corvette over in Houston. We drove over with an open trailer and picked up the car.

Here is one of the highest optioned ’66 Corvettes ever ordered; on top of that, it’s a Bloomington Benchmark and Special Collection car with a shippers copy to document every option on this car.
The car is Nassau blue with blue interior and the options are;

427/390
side pipes
knock off wheels
teak wheel
telescopic wheel
4 speed, posi rear
gold line tires
power windows
headrest seats
air conditioning
tinted glass
hazard warning lights
AM/FM radio
power steering
power brakes
