Its been a few months and I've received a couple of enquiries however nothing serious yet. Thought I'd try again if anyone has a used one of these for sale?

hard to find Edgemont. Call Jim Stubbing at Heartbeat City in Michigan and or Bob Harris at Camaro Specialities in Buffalo, NY.

Thanks for the suggestion, HBC doesn't have one (previosly checked) however I haven't contacted CS and will follow up.

Chuck has an almost complete jack on ebay:

Heartbeat sells a nice looking repro hood assy, but you already said you want an original.

I need the same part, but will probably buy a repro for now, and keep my eyes peeled for an original.

Just out of curiosity, is the HBC one painted correctly? I thought just the hook was blue, and the mechanism was the same color gray as the base. Also, is the rivet attaching the BE bracket to the hook painted or natural. (said another way, were the two pieces assembled before or after paint.)

Here is a pic of a real one with the original paint.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the pic. What about the rivet?

Yes, I am, thank you for the compliment. Trying to source a few small parts that have gone missing over the years. Still looking for an Endura hook!

Lynn, I spoke to Chuck about this jack some time ago. Although it has an original endura load rest it should consist of 2 pieces. Its missing the piece riveted to the hook and stamped VE-3. As my car is a survivor I don't plan to restore the jack so it needs to be all-original.

Sometimes I feel like some things are virtually unobtainable. Just be patient, and something usually turns up. It isn't like you would ever put that jack on the bumper and raise the car, right?

Would like to see some pics of your car. I have a 10 10 Z, but it isn't an RS, it is an X77 car. I am in the process of paint, and it is making an old man out of me. I have a Ferrari project in the works that I was considering painting black, but told Sherri this morning that I think I will paint it silver. Black cars look killer, but painting it myself, I feel like I am the one getting killed.

Good luck with the paint. Patience isn't a strength of mine however I'm learning, thanks for the good counsel.

<span style="font-size: 11pt">Since March is the one year anniversary of this Wanted posting I thought I would re-fresh the ad in case anyone has one they want to sell or has a lead on a used Endura Jack Hook (load rest). I have been in contact with all the parts vendors and they don't have any at this time. I am aware of an NOS hook that's available however I'm looking for a used one. </span>

Yes, I agree, the repop hook is very good; I have one as a &quot;placeholder&quot; until I locate a used original.

Don't want to get your hopes up, but I have my original hook and recently a friend who wheels and deals in Camaro parts got a NOS one at a swap meet(cheap!). If he still has it and I can talk him out of it, I will sell my original one. It is in good survivor condition-never repainted. The only reason I would do this is that my car is original, but I would not consider it a survivor as I had to paint it and to do this I completely diassembled the car cleaned each component and re-assembled. My car is an original VE3 car.

Bentley,
Is the rivet painted on your original?

I have one with the part number tag still on it and YES the rivet is painted.

The piece is not for sale just thought I would pass along some information.

Well, looked at jack hook today. There is no paint on rivet, but it could be worn off as it sticks up and there is some paint missing in that area on hook itself.. The hook is blue, but the end of the VE3 part has some gray near the end of it thst matches the gray on the other part of jack.

Until now, I never got a clear answer as to whether the two parts were riveted together, and then painted, or painted separately, and then riveted together. That pic is clear proof that the assembly was painted. Thanks for the pics that cleared it up.

After considerable time and some effort I located an original endura jack hook, thanks to everyone who provided leads (and encouragement!).

In case anyone wants to see detailed photos of the hook and a comparison with the reproduction version I posted a thread on CRG: http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=10892.0
