My guess is a Home Made block off plate for the heater box round hole. A real GM delete plate for a Chevelle does not look the same.

That is used on any 67-69 f body or even x body with an automatic transmission to cover the clutch rod hole.

my 70 z28 turbo 400 car has the same plate. blocks the hole in the firewall for the clutch rod. very good david c.
