Just a quick note letting folks know that Copo Pete is going into the hospital today for an extended stay, to try and get a game plan in regards to his heart. I won't go into a lot of details, as I'd probably get them wrong anyway, but I know he'd appreciate some positive thoughts from those of us here @ Yenko.net.

Best wishes to you Pete. I know you're getting that awesome Canadian healthcare, but if things get confusing and you could use a head-check, my wife's been in the heart care industry for 20 years and I'd be happy to run stuff by her if you'd like. Don't be afraid to call or PM. Again, good luck to you.

Pete, Take your meds and take it easy. IF they're talking about installing a rev limiter, I've been there and have a lot I could relay if you have questions.
Get up and walk around AS SOON as you can.
Good Luck!

Bruno posted this over at v8buick:

"Just spoke with Peter. He's on his way home for the weekend after a series of tests. He's tired but in good spirits. So far, tests results have shown that everything is well and he's a great candidate for a heart transplant. I'm sure he will update us all soon."

Wow. Thanks folks. It's been quite a week. They won't be doing any test this week-end, so they gave me a leave of absence. I have to go back to the hospital on Sunday night. I have been doing what they call a "Heart Transplant Assessment". Basically giving me the ultimate physical. When they check your prostate, they use two fingers ,cause they want a immediate second opinion.
............. Sorry, after a week of poking and proding and you got nothing left but a scense of humour.
Since October, my health has been failing worse than ever and my heart is working at 23%. Not an ideal #!
I appreciate your thought and prayers. It ALL helps.
Nice to be home.
Thanks again all,
Peter

Hey Pete, did they put in an implantable defibrillator? You're probably at high risk for sudden cardiac death with your heart compromised like that. A built in shock box would go a long way towards keeping you among us:). Take care.

Well, ...... the good news is I'm on the list. The bad news is I DOneed a new heart. Now all I have to do is wait for the scary call. I'd rather be nervous of the call instead of laying in bed praying for the call with only a couple of days left.
Bruce, likely gunna call in the next day or two.
Thanks all for your positive comments. You guys are the best!

Ken. Thanks for asking. Still waiting.
I did test out my rev limiter three weeks ago. My heart went 250+ beats per minute for just over 19 seconds before I got zapped. It gets your attention!

Yes it does!! But that's a good thing because it means you're still conscious and alive to feel the ZAP. 19 seconds sounds like too long for it to react. It should be programed to do it's job before you hit the ground. (ask me how I know!)

Good luck,
Verne
