Howdy! Up for sale is a freaky fast ONE Owner 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. 001 off the production line as designated by placard. Never left the CA AZ area. 454 Aluminum block Yenko engine, Automatic transmission, 12 bolt Posi Rear Differential, custom wheels. Convertible converted by the dealership Key Chevrolet of Cupertino CA. Slight dings to body and will need convertible top fabric replaced due to our sun. Call DANN for more details and your private showing 928-300-4561.

Very improbable. Don Yenko died in a plane crash in 1987.

Yes, probably #1 convertible conversion produced by the company, which I believe they started doing in 1979. I've seen quite a few convertible 79 Trans Am convertibles over the years.

As for the 454, that had to be something an owner did.

This ad is from Flagstaff, and states that the car was in AZ and CA its whole life. DKM was in Arizona, and they were doing the Macho T/A conversions, but they stuck with Pontiac engines.

It doesn't read like a Yenko Conversion to me. By the looks of that tag, it's probably just the #1 Convertible Conversion that ended up with an over-the-counter Yenko Aluminum block/engine. That being the case, it's not priced terribly expensive and I would think that a fellow might be able to buy that car reasonably, harvest that Alloy Rat outa there and replace it with a 400 Pontiac and possibly re-coup most of your money back.

----Mark,,,My thought is that this car has absolutely nothing to do with Don Yenko,,,nothing except a block that may or may not have been cast with the Yenko name moulded on it......Bill S
