I recently bought this car and just got around to check it out. I am wondering if any one remembers it or has any info on it.
The car was a original X66 big block car burgandy, burgandy black standard interior, looks to be a real cowl inducted car and possibly a L78 but no real proof of that except for a original 2 piece throttle arm thats on it. There is really nothing else to check unless it still has a original fuel sending unit in it. There is a decal on the windshield from a car show in Daytona Beach in 20003. This car was built to be a clone

John, check the gas cap, L78s should have a unique cap due to the single fuel line.

Neat car. I thought you were going to put a ZL1 in it?

Thanks Dan I will have to give the orange car a break this summer and cruise this one.
Mark that is the plan to put the ZL1 in it but I would still like to know if there is any history that comes up on this car. Bob I still have to see if it still has its original gas tank and cap

The single line was used in other applications as well, and the fuel cap should be the same regardless of engine.

Your right about the fuel line being used in other applications but if it is a X66 car it could only be used in a high horse car

I was not refering to your car being a high horse or not, but questioned the different gas caps used based on the # of fuel lines.

Ok sorry about that I misunderstood your response. I am not trying to make people think it is a L78 car without any documentation or the original engine there is no way of really telling. I just think if it is, it would have been a pretty cool car.

I received a call approx 8 years ago or so from Brad at D and R Camaro. He told me that Steve had purchased a clone Motion Camaro from one of his customers and that it was for sale.

Brad had told me that it was a real Red/Black big block car based on the trim tag, and that he believed that none of the drive train was original.

I went to look at the car, bought it and drove it home that day. A local friend and customer Fred N. drove me over to see the car.

It had a 454 engine, TH400 with a big stall and a 12 bolt posi.

Not long after I had it back at the garage Fred made an offer to buy the Camaro, which I accepted.

He purchased some "MOTION" parts from The parts palace, including the repro Trans Am spoiler which he added to the car. It had a std '69 Camaro D80 spoiler on it, when I got it.

He drove it for a brief time and even took it to a local cruise night or two.

He decided to sell the car and I can't remember if he traded it back to me or just consigned it as he was buying a bunch of cars from me at that time. I remember that he ran it at Mecum in Belvedere and it was a no sale.

I was referred to a local Electrical contractor, West of town. Nate wanted his first Muscle car and based on our conversation, this car fit the bill.

I remember taking it out to his home for a test drive. His wife wanted to go first and had me drive it. At the end of the test drive, she just responded that "we'll take it."

Nate had it for a while and then sent it to an auction or two where I believe it eventually sold.
