Here my new toy thanks to my good friend and member Matt (aka Fast67velle) by far the best swapmeet /tin and parts hunter i know.
Short on time time tonight (busy weekend ).So only one picture and brief story .Built in 1960 has 2 Clinton engines with a ton of Palmini and other vintage kart speed parts . Plus disc brake /axle driven fuel pump/Dell'orto carbs /real magnesium wheels /racing slicks ,etc .Plus a box of spare vintagespeed parts .
I got the engine moving freely after taking of the chains and some oil in the cylinders ..More info and pictures to come the week. Thanks Again Matt

Here are some pictures once I unloaded it out of my Jeep. Its a super cool vintage Kart with a bunch of neat speed parts. There is no better owner or someone who appreciates something as much as this other than John. Enjoy it!

Holy cow! Direct drive - no clutches! My old twin engine (drum brake) go-kart is sitting back in N.E. Ohio garage of my childhood best bud's garage. We were partners on it and had the MOST fun possible with that old ride. Every Saturday our parents took turns hauling us to the Canfield Fairgrounds in one of our station wagons for a day full of go-kart hot rodding...ALL day long!!! Good times!! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/grin.gif
P.S. nice <span style="font-style: italic">"mufflers"</span> <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/naughty.gif

It was built to go fast for sure. Aluminum sprockets and axle shaft. The "mufflers" are Palmini "tuned" headers!

Nice details. Do u think that the disc brakes are original or added later? Very progressive!

The brake is original when it was built .Here a pic from a 1960 kart magazine .Shows that you could buy a disc set up .. I would hate to have to stop it with a band brake .....<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: mockingbird812</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Nice details. Very similar to a Dart or Rupp, but it's a Clark Cyclops 440. Still has the name and model embossed on the original seat pad.
There's a paper sticker on the metal seat back stating "Clark Mfg. Co., Conyers, Ga."
nice karts
I have one like the blue one here
it has a live axle with a Bendix drum brake and the front wheels have large taper bearings like a car

Mccullochs were the hot engines in the late 60s but a tad too pricey for me. My buddy and I did finangle a West Bend 2 cycle that was pretty fast and had a ball with it.
Great video - thanks for <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/3gears.gif posting!!

That's probably how a lot of us got our car-guy bug started. Dad made us a plywood frame/tiller steer/big-wheel tired go kart with an old Briggs too - with Fred Flinstone brakes.
The original drifting vehicle. I remember being sideways most of the time, especially on gravel roads. We all probably learned to counter-steer in these things. It was an advantage when I was 16 and got on ice and snow with a real car.

<span style="font-size: 11pt">I came across this photo of my old cart. This is my youngest standing next to it about 8 yrs ago when we visited my childhood bud in NE Ohio. I believe that is a West Bend 2 cycle on it which was the last engine we ran on it WAAAAAY back when! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/grin.gif We bought this from a family friend for $10 bucks and was a true barn-find as that is where it was stored. Ahhh, the memories! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/laugh.gif </span>

Seeing the carts here, I wondered if anyone would like the cart frame sitting in my driveway? (dogs not included).

What year is that book?
That is absolutely the same cart frame. Anybody want it? I bought it locally for $10 from a yard sale years ago. I was going to do a reverse burglary and drop it back off at the same house in the middle of the night, as a joke. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/naughty.gif But if somebody from the board here wants it, they are welcome to come and get it. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/grin.gif
