This is a 65-66 396/375HP, 396/425HP, and 427/425HP air cleaner. This air cleaner came on 65 Z16 Chevelles, 65 Impala w/ 396/425HP engine, and 66 Impala w/ 427/425HP engine.

I just got this air cleaner in today. I will not be able to get to blasting and painting it for a couple weeks. I always take pre-resto photos and thought I would post it for sale here for a bit cheaper in as found condition.

This air cleaner is an excellent original. There is no rust or modifications othr than a 1/32" drilled hole in the breather tube as shown. The snorkels are excellent with only minor tweaks on the very ends as shown. The lid is also excellent. I did not even wipe the dust off for the photos. These simply don't come around in this excellent condition.

$1650

The Z-16 had a chrome lid.

If the Z-16 had a chrome lid, what would this be original to?

Thanks guys,

Brian is right, the Z/16 had the chrome lid but the base is the same and that is what matters. The lid that is with this air cleaner is super nice and would be great to chrome. I doubt anyone would keep an original chrome lid as is since it would be faded, pitted, scratched, etc. I imagine chroming the steel lid would be cheaper since there are not pits to deal with.
