Hey guys, i was looking over the barrett jackson list of cars, came across what looked like a good deal for someone. Lot #962.2 http://www.barrett-jackson.com/applicati...d=443&pop=0 (http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx?ln=962.2&aid=443&pop=0)
It says "survivor" did anyone get to look at the car in person, was it an original paint, original drivetrain car? For the selling price of $41.8 what was wrong with it?

I saw it there; it is a restoration.
Why do you think there is something wrong with it? It sold for market price. There were 4 '69 Z/28-RS at last weeks' B-J auction. Average price including fee was $41,388.
2012 YTD average price is around $49,000. Last year it was $61,500. The market goes up AND down. A '69 Z/28 is a common sight at a collector car auction. Lots of activity.

If that were a "survivor" car like it had stated i think it would have brought more than 40k with original paint etc. Thats why i was asking what was wrong with the car, had it been repainted, or restored.

The only true "survivor" '69 Z/28 I recall at B-J was 2009. 1 owner Fathom Green, 26,000 miles. Decent car, not great. Sold for around $60,000. Several restorations sold for more.

Real Trim Tags, Real Pad Stamps ... bring Real Money. You don't see them on TV or in auction results.
Oh yeah, documentation and owner history doesn't hurt either. JMO, Ed

yeah, the L78 has 18k miles on it, the original paint on the car is so nice it looks better than most restos ive seen LOL. The original owners son had gotten on the roof of the car when he was drafted off to war and put some dents in it. other than that the car is perfect.
