Has anyone else been having issues with individuals committing to purchasing an item that you have listed in the for sale section on this site and then never paying you, not responding to PMs or emails and just basically ignoring you all together???

I have had this happen two times now with members on the site here.. This really aggravates me.. I have no problem with someone committing and then backing out, just extend the common courtesy of letting me know you no longer want the item and I can re-list it... It's not that big of a deal or that much to ask!!

Had a seller recently tell me he would get back to me on how he wanted payment, then got ignored. I suspect someone convinced him reconsider who he was $elling to.

Anytime someone wants to buy something from me i always tell them that my item will only be marked sold or pulled off if and when payment is made.
It usually speeds up the payment in a hurry.
You can also mark "pending payment" which lets others know it is not a done deal till payment is recieved.

I honestly havent had a problem here with anyone though.

I had this happen to me recently on this site and I was sent a PM telling me he would take the item I had for sale, he was the first to respond so I called him on the phone personally and after our conversation, I sent him my address to make payment. After waiting a week and sending an email, the member removes himself from the topic in my messages and never responds back.

seriously? Are we talking an unpaid lurker with three posts or a "REAL" member.

If it's the former they should be blocked from the site. Buyers should be held to the same standards as sellers. This is NOT PeeBait.

<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/haha.gif I said "I'll take 'em off your hands." Never said anything about "buying" them. Ask your 'In-house Legal Counsel' if that constitutes a "Contract". <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/wink.gif

Only took you 3 months to respond...you must be busy sending out all that SPAM that keeps filling my mailbox <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/rolleyes.gif

Anyway, it doesn't matter about the cars..Tibor agreed to take them all, if I throw in a free set of aluminum heads <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/naughty.gif

I'll tell you where its tough to get people to pay for items, and thats ebay. I get at least 3 people a month that win an item and I never hear another thing from them again.

Matt, must be buyers remorse after they realized that since they were the high bidder they probably paid too much. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

Luckily I haven't had that problem, but then again, I don't sell as much as you and Jason do.

I have never had this problem on ebay.

I rarely have that problem either. I have lots of repeat customers though, so that cuts down on the non-payers.
