Digging parts from the garage to move out, I found this L78 lid. It's not from a 70 Camaro (I compaired it to mine). Any ideas what year/model this is from?

When I purchased this lid, I was told this came off a 1969 BBC.

Aha!
I did buy a box of parts a few years back that was supposed to be from a 70 ElCamino L78. I bet this is from that lot of parts? I was thrown off because I compaired it to my 70 Camaro L78 and it was different. However, I guess the ElCamino's may noy have gotten the dual snorkel's?
Thanks guys, unless someone spots something different?

It's definitely a 1970 + open element top only, and not the larger diameter Dual top.
1970 L-78 Elcaminos could not get the dual snorkle.Dual snorkles came out much later on in the 70 model year, long after the L-78 option was cancelled for Chevelle/Elco which were only produced for the first 90 or so days of production, before the LS-6 came out.

I have one from a swap meet years ago with CZ and 6487699 on the side of the silk screen and there are 2 silk screens. It's pretty black so hard to take a photo. Any clues on what year?

I cleaned it up some with some gas and manual labor.

Hey Rick good to know info on the L78 only having an open element or Cowl Induction breathers.
What is your take on these two build sheets. Check out the code on the air breather. One is from an LS6 the other is from an L78.....

Both those cars did not have cowl induction.
Marked "CP" i think it was an open air element as closed dual snorkel element was marked "CO" (not 100% sure if i am correct)
"DG" was cowl induction.
There is also a "SS" code for 396 350 HP cars with open air element.

Martin...That's a 1973-74 Z/28 <span style="text-decoration: underline">ONLY</span> Camaro air cleaner base.
"CP" was an open element air cleaner.Same as "SS" code.

Sorry for jumping in on the O/P. Thanks for the info. Any idea why they would have two codes for open element cars. I have seen SS codes on other L78's and LS6 sheets as well as L34 cars. These are the only two I have with the CP.
I've seen it on a scarce few.No idea..it's an anomaly,as the vast majority used "SS".

Was "CO" the only code for the dual snorkel air assembly?
