Spotted in Daly City, South San Francisco yesterday afternoon. Wonderful rumble and sweet tailpipe music.

I wish!

I was already apoplectic seeing the Charger. If there had been a '67 390 GT Mustang I would have passed out...

Could've been THE Bullit Charger as it's supposedly survived and been resto'd in recent years.
We looked at it here in a thread a year or few back, found w/ the old camera mount holes etc and same original yellow painted black then yellow again under the existing top color paint.

The Rustang was a '68 too, sidemarker lamps etc.

The Bullitt Mustang Club is having a Route 66 road trip this week with an event in either SFO or LA this weekend. The Charger must be heading to one of the events as the organizers had opened it up to All Bullutt mustangs and Chargers. The Charger photoed is owned by Frank Panacci of SFO area. He is or was a patrol officer on duty when Bullitt was filmed. See page 2 of Bullit News for info on his Charger on the Ponysite.

Beautiful. There used to be an identical twin to the Bullitt Charger sitting in a vacant lot in Reserve, Ks years ago. Never could buy it, and it finally disappeared. Hope it got saved.

Photo was taken at Lake Merced Blvd and John Daly Blvd in Daly City, just south of Olympic Golf Cource. It's 9 miles from Guadelupe Canyon Road where the final crash scene took place in the movie. Chances are there were some photo pops there and that is where the Charger was headed.

Paul, none of this was lost on me as I hung out the window and stared in disbelief at that car. Being a Bay Area kid I worshipped the chase scene in "Bullitt" and it still stirs excitement when I watch it nowadays. Seeing this car was great, but seeing it in San Francisco not far from those 1968 shooting locations was the icing on the cake.

Wow! Beautiful car! I "get" that wheelcover laying up against the curb in the background! Magnum wheels are cool, as are dogs, but the various OE wheelcovers on our favorite musclecars can really make the difference. I restored a set of optional wire wheelcovers for my Camaro recently just to change the look a little:

Now I want a '68-'69 Charger.....
