View Full Version : Holly and Reid were in a car (truck) accident....

Reid was driving my truck...and misjudged the speed of an oncoming car. We got the call that no one wants to get...that they had been in an accident and that the police and fire departments were there.

Both are being checked out at the hospital near the house...

Reid seems to be okay and Holly has some arm, shoulder and belly area pain. They are doing tests now to make sure that they both are okay...I am just glad that they weren't hit in the door area...

I drove the truck home...and it will go in for repairs once the insurance crap is sorted out.

Okay, They are waiting on the results of the x-rays for Holly...and for the doctor.

I am proud of Holly...that she was able to calmly tell the paramedics about her medical status and medical history...They already had everything sorted out by the time we got there...

Glad too hear everyone is OK. I go to a lot of accidents with my work and I always tell parents who arrive on scene to see their cars smashed up that they make cars everyday but great children like yours are hard to come by.

Bruce, I just signed on right now and saw this. I am glad they are ok. No matter how old your children are, you never stop being a parent. Is this the same truck that you got hit in? Maybe it is time to sell it?

Yes it is...It wouldn't even be worth selling...LOL

Who'd buy a truck that's been hit twice? I will drive it into the ground.

Glad to hear the "kids" are ok. Do you have a picture of the truck from the first accident. Post it for comparison. When you try it repaired get a bullseye painted on that side!

Bruce, been awhile since I checked things out. Glad to hear the kids are all right...kinda like the WHO song. Myself, I had a incident with a deer a couple weeks back while driving a 69 Z. I had to swerve to avoid it and wound up 25 yards in the woods. Missed some 4' diameter trees by inches but was still banged up and just getting back. Deers and hospitals suck but I'm here and back on the mend. Many of the first responders told me someone was looking after me. Those folks were great and I sincerely thank them for there efforts. I got a chance to look at the impact zone a couple of days ago and saw that a few inches to the left or right would of been very bad....terminally bad. Those folks do a great job and I am very grateful. As for the deer, decorum won't let me post my true thoughts but they are not pretty. Before anybody asks, there is one less 69 Z on the road....it was totalled and off to the crusher <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/cry.gif

Xplantdad
07-07-2012, 03:56 AM
Wow Tom...I am glad that you are okay!

There were too many 69 Z's anyways <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/wink.gif <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/grin.gif

Tks Bruce....it was not a good experience, once my wife and kids saw me, the car and scene I can tell you all, many prayers were were answered....a few busted ribs, one wrist, a nose with racoon eyes and a messed up spleen....i'm so happy to be here posting today. Hindsight is always 20/20....but maybe I should of taken out the deer!

PeteLeathersac
07-07-2012, 12:58 PM
Sorry about the car Tom but great you're Ok and on the mend!
I've hit too many deer and other animals over the years and it's very hard in the moment to make any decisions but often better to hit the poor creatures than swerve.
