Theorhetically, if you had $10k (only $10k) to spend on a muscle car or classic in today's market, what would you buy?

I'd buy the '67 Elky in the Classifieds.

10K buys a lot of 5.0 Mustang cars that are fast and done.

I'd buy a smart car and then put the money I'd be saving in gas into a bank account and eventually buy a copo chevelle.

The best 10K car would be a 1987 Buick Grand National, plenty of them around for that price range. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif

That's changing rapidly. I think an early ('83 or '84) Stage III Dominator Mustang is about the best 80's bang for the buck out there, as far as potential value down the road. If you can find one. I'd take every one I could get at ten large.

I'd buy the numbers matching 71 LS5 el Camino in my area with 4 speed and AC for $8,500. Haven't even had the time to check it out yet.

For 10K? Not unless you want a high mile "beater."

a 66 or 67 Chevy II sedan. There's a blue one on RJunk than can be bought under 7K without the motor. Would be a sweet ride with an LSX swap
There are some VERY interesting full size '60's Pontiacs that can be had for under $10k. Catalina's GP's, Bonneville's. You can get some pretty deep rides for a modest amount of cash in that area.

Just about any 72 or earlier 2 door hardtop. Post sedans would be my second choice. It is getting very hard to find these cars at 10k or under any more, believe me I am looking. Mustangs, Falcons, Comets, Darts, Dusters, box Nova's...you get the drift. Kids are even paying up for the 6 bangers in those body styles. My 2 cents

You know, $10K buys an awfully nice '72 Firebird

The Rally II's dressed it up nicely, IMO.
(Shameless plug, lol:)

For $10K, I'd say that's quite a nice car, Tom. If I had that much, I'd buy it! <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/burnout.gif
