I am looking for a very good used Goodyear Eagle GT+4 raised white letter tire for my 12K mile 88 Monte SS. Unfortunately one of the belts is seperating on the inside of one of my originals.

If they're 215/65/15 it may be worth checking in w/ member Jake D as he had some advertised here last summer.

Otherwise good luck also try "plus 4" in your searches too!

Thanks Pete - I still have them.

I would only sell as a set of 4 though and mine are probably a little more worn than Frank's car requires.

I was trying to sell both the black letter set and the white letter set and put the money towards a new set of the recently released repro Eagle GT's.

Thanks for the responses guys.

Yeah, if I can, I would really like to find one or even two (one for a back up) that would be on par with a pretty low mile car.

If you haven't found anything good yet, check in w/ sYc member ScottS and ask if his GT's for sale are the +4's?
Even if not +4's his sound like a beauty set to run and sell later when you find what you need?

Frank, did my guy help you out?

Ed, no, he didn't have the tires I was looking for. He did however have a set of just plain Goodyear Eagle GT's that he was willing to sell for $2000. He was pretty surprised when I told him that they repop them and they cost less. (He was unaware of the repops.) Thanks for the lead.

The good news is that I found one. Kind of funny, I have been looking on e-bay every day for a few weeks, had wanted ads on here and the Monte Carlo SS forum, and had others give me leads with no luck. The other day on a TOTAL fluke I was browsing craigslist and decided to type the tire into the search bar. I figiued there wouldn't be a snowballs chance in hell, that I was basically looking for a needle in a hay stack. Well I found one, and not just any one, a NOS tire and the best part was the $30.00 price! A seventy something year old couple had it in their garage in Lake Forest, IL and said that it belonged to their son who moved to Iowa many years back. I picked it up Saturday and while I was there they sold me this Cities Service 5 gallon oil can for a few bucks. I was ecstatic to say the least, it was all almost to good to be true. By the way, does anybody know approximately what year the can is from?

I want to keep this ad active. I would like to have at least one more tire as a back up since these seem somewhat hard to come by.

Is an RBL the same any good to you Frank...break out the shoe polish?
It's up here in Canada, 215/65/15 GT+4 new/mounted but never used.

Thanks Pete, but I need a raised white letter tire.

I had the tire I found over the weekend mounted yesterday. It turns out that my guy noticed ANOTHER one going bad. I'm just kidding myself here. If I want to actually drive this car I may need to buy the repop Eagle GT's. This nonsense of looking all over and replacing each 25 year old tire one by one is silly. Even then, I am still stuck with "brand new" 25 year old tires. Probably not good if I want to drive the car safely.
