I have an original, still in the box NOS Z/28 Air Cleaner Cowl seal, but the glue has let go. The tape is still holding but the glue let go. Anyone ever re-glued these? If so, what works? I tried 3M weatherstip sealer but that doesn't hold it. I'm hoping someone has a fix for this. Any ideas would be appreicated.

I have only ever used the 3M westherstrip adhesive and have never had any issues. I wonder if there was too much mold release agent left on the rubber and caused it to not adhere.

Make sure you clean the crap out of that rubber seal, use toluene if you have it , or synthetic enamel reducer is good to, lacquer thinner is OK too.
FYI, my choice of weather strip glue is Permatex, have used both and the 3m flashes over real fast. But both are good products.
