View Full Version : Yenko Nova @ Ault Park Concours
One of the shows Diana and I really enjoy attending is the Ault Park Concours, held in Cincinnati, Ohio. This year one of the feature classes was for dealer modified cars, so after a stop at a local show in West Plains on Saturday, we headed North with our ’69 Yenko Nova for the Concours on Sunday. As is always the case, we had a great time, great hosts, saw many rare cars, new and old, and even ran into several club members. To top it all off, to our surprise, the Nova won “Best in Class”, which means you get to drive through the reviewing area to receive your award. Rather strange to be in the line to go through, sandwiched between a late model exotic and a pre-war classic.
That's Great <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/flag.gif
..... You should have went thru like this <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/burnout.gif

Day 2 trim. Excellent!
The judges told me that the semi-"race look" scored some extra points for the Nova.
Included in Day 2 trim are headers, which I run uncapped. As I was in line to pass through the reviewing area, 50% wanted me to rev it up, 50% wanted me to shut it off.
BTW, a <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/biggthumpup.gif to Eric, who did the carb. I had to start/shut it off numerous times while in line, it could not have worked better.

Thanks everyone.
Besides several club members stopping by, I bet I had 5-6 people come up to me and say they were from the Canonsburg/McMurray area and knew the Yenko dealership(s) well, one of those worked for Yenko for 7 or so years. He and I spent some time visiting about Don, Donna Mae and Yenko in general.

My Buddy's Wife has a little Metropolitan only it is blue and white. That car gets more attention at shows than his original 66 big block Chevelle rag top or his 55 Chevy hot rod..
Rich
The metro was getting as much attention as any car at the show, especially from the women.
Since most of the events I attend feature drag racing, the ’69 Nova does not get taken out much. We enjoyed showing it at a couple of events that weekend. Plans are to have it on display at the SCR.
