As some of you know, my 18 year old son was in need of a kidney transplant because of a congenital condition. I wanted to donate, but they wouldn't test me because of high blood pressure. Have no idea where that came from????? Crap!

Anyway, turns out my wife was a match. Surgeries were last Wed. Started at 7 a.m. and finished at 6 p.m. Stressful day to say the least, especially because they were in two separate facilities connected by a "skywalk" (only 3 floors up, but I guess here in Oklahoma that is all it takes to be considered in the sky!). I walked over 10 miles Wed going back and forth. Probably a good thing to help relieve the stress.

Anyway, long story short, Bruce isn't the only Xplant dad around here now. Wife came home Fri nite, and son came home Sun afternoon. Both are doing well. The kidney is already working and for the first time in his life, he is not on a restricted diet. First follow up visit is tomorrow morning.
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. Especially thanks to Bruce who has been very supportive during the last 3 years. If you were not on my email list to get updates last week, please don't be offended. I left out a lot of folks. Believe me, it was not intentional.

Thanks to all.

Lynn

It's nice to hear some news with a happy ending for a change. Some of us actually like to hear good news despite what the networks think. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif
