My friend has a 1969 DZ 302 Camaro for sell, that I was looking at.... The stamping on the pad looks wrong to me, any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

V0106DZ on the pad

You can also ask The CRG if you didn't already.

According to Jerry MacNeish in his 69 Camaro book shows that vin number being built in Oct.of 68,which the vin should be stamped on the pad and not down by the oil filter like the pic you took. What cast number is showing on the block??Is it a 386 or a 618 block??I'm thinking restamp, maybe others will chime in..

010 blocks were not available in the early 69 cars I believe.

Pad is clearly a restamp. VIN and tag don't match too.
That car has been around - it was for sale last year.
