There's an old 70 Camaro L78 beater on ebay that looks like it has some history with this group. Never hard about this type of racing before and from what their site says they have been arouns since 1959.

Anyway, this L78 Camaro beater looks like it raced in PHA.

Still looks to have a 837 altanator . So their a few hundred you don't need to spend . If it was raced with the SCCA should be a log book for it some were. Have to do a title search for pass PA owner history. If I only had the room .

The PHA was the place to run if you wanted to show how fast and brave you were ! It is like an autocross with trees instead of orange cones. The only time that I know of Don runnig was on the way back from a race in Maryland one year , a fellow racer , Oscar Kovaleski I think ( owned Autoworld in Scranton )talked him into a hillclimb in Hershey. He made one run up the hill, drove his Corvette onto the trailer and commented " You people are Nuts !It is like racing thru a tunnel of trees ! " They revived Hershey several years ago for a couple of years and I ran my vintage Stinger... Fastest vintage car that weekend....7/10 mile, uphill standing start, 9 turns, mostly blind....52 seconds. 4 cars lost to trees.
