Come Join Us and have your car Vintage Certified at MCACN Nov 17th & 18th in Chicago

Vintage Certification™ is a judging program whose sole purpose is to recognize, provide status, provenance, and promote un-restored (survivor) vehicles. We believe it is the only program that focuses on documenting and benchmarking these cars. Our core certification team consists of Brett Merryman, Chris White, John Karvonen, Roger Gibson, Steve Shauger and incorporates other specialists based on make and model. Each core team member possesses over 30 years experience as restorers, collectors, historians and judges in the hobby. Typically we spend 3hrs examining in detail every segment of your car including on a lift. The MCACN show http://www.mcacn.com is the perfect venue to have your vehicle certified. You will be among and exclusive group of enthusiast who participate in this new exciting event.

We understand not every original car is 100% untouched, and we offer four levels of certification, based on the originality of the Vehicle.
Vintage Legend Certifications™ levels are divided into four divisions:
Vintage Legend - Cars that are 85+% unrestored in all reference areas.
Vintage Legacy - Cars that are 85+% unrestored in three out of five reference areas.
Vintage Reference - Cars that are 85+% unrestored in at least one Vintage Reference Area.
Vintage Icon - Cars that have original-unrestored components disbursed throughout.

Reference Areas: Certification consists of two areas of consideration, Originality and Preservation. Reference areas are as follows:

• Engine Compartment Area
• Exterior Body
• Interior Body
• Underbody
• Trunk

This is Vintage Certification™ 14th year and we continuing to expand and educate enthusiast on factory standards.

VINTAGE CERTIFICATION™ PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING:

• Encourages the preservation, status, recognition and appreciation of the unrestored vehicle.

• Offers the hobbyist the opportunity to have their Vehicle certified objectively, fairly and provides provenance and pedigree.

• Promotes and adheres to the philosophy that the original car showing wear is preferable to one that is improperly restored

• Vintage Certification™ represents a repository of factory correct standards by which the hobby and serious restorers can all benefit

• Vintage Certification™ identifies a Vehicle as having completed a thorough exhausting inspection process, which references factory standards, and at a level as established by Vintage Certification Group.

Last year we added a display only area (non judged) exclusively unrestored cars "Vintage Heritage Collection". Having a display area for unrestored cars allows owners of like cars to be displayed together and recognized collectively.

For those of you familiar with this part of the MCACN show, you know how neat it is. It indeed ends up being a "show within a show" and worth the price of admission just to see these cars. Great to have such an amazing mix this year, too. Thanks to all who participate, especially our Judging team, who indeed take this sort of deal to another level!

What can be said about the MCACN show, another year and yet it still continues to set the bar higher. I would like to thank all those that participated in the Vintage Certification program this year. It was a fantastic event again and the cars were true time capsules. This year we expanded into ford products, and welcomed two new judges for that marquee. Certifying 9 cars is our most ever at one event and I can’t thank the judges enough because we spent close to 27 in total evaluating the cars.

Our team of judges consisted of ; John Karvonen, Chris White, Brett Merryman, Marty Burke, Jim Cunningham, Ken Mosier & Steve Shauger. Our tabulator and photographer were Brett & Forest Merryman.

The cars below participated in our exhausting Vintage Certification program and each was awarded our Vintage Certification.

Vintage Certified
1971 Camaro Z28 - Rob Sitts
1981 Corvette - Deanna Haley
1965 Shelby Mustang - Kevin Gibson
1969 Talladega Prototype - Jason Thompson
1970 Chevelle LS6 - Jason Boe
1967 GTO 400 HO - Robert Hines
1969 Camaro Z28 - Tony Lucas
1969 Torino 428 CJ - Tony Lucas
1970 AAR Cuda - Tony Lucas

Vintage Display:
1969 Nova SS L78 - Grady Burch
1970 Camaro Pilot #2 - JC Barnett
1969 Super Bee - Dan Varner
1973 Comet GT - John Tinberg
1969 Camaro RS/Z28 - Mark Bulaw
1970 TA Challenger
1987 Monte Carlo SS

The overall show was simply put, amazing because of the participants and the attendees. This show has something for everyone and again Bob Ashton and his wife Vicki out did themselves in producing the absolute best muscle car event ever, and my fellow members’ contributions put this show over the top.

Thanks to all involved. It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones.
