Much more heart warming than the Nazi car story... This one has humane undertones <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smirk.gif

To me thats kind of messed up!! I understand both sides, Its cool the guy got his stolen car back but what about all the previous owners and the bag of worms thats going to open this car could have been sold 20 times in the last 40 years and Im sure the paper trail will be lost some where along the way?? He's out his money for a car that he bought with a title and that didnt come up stolen in the DMV search or records. It didnt come up stolen until a detective re-actived a stolen car report that was 40 years old.. Makes you wonder how many more cars are floating around out there that were stolen 40+ years ago and are no longer active in the FBI or Insurance reports..

What about the insurance that he probably collected? Even paying that back, he'd make out. But the guy that's stuck is the last buyer/seller. Don't know what his options are.

His only options are legal action, and then a domino effect to each previous seller. That's why Andy noted, and I agreed with, what a bag/can of worms this whole thing could open up.
