Anyone have any tips for bringing a plastic black dash bezel back to its original condition. Mine is kind of dull I would like to shine it up a little.

Jason, it's a little tough to do that on the Nova bezels because of the chrome plating on the plastic. I've tried to polish up a few over the years. You can try using a fine jewelers polish or a real fine paint polish and do it by hand. Doing it mechanically just melts the fine ribs that are in those dashes. I would definately practice on something before I would even try it on yours.

Try using Mequiars #40 vinyl/rubber cleaner. I've used it on lots of dull/faded/dirty black plastic interior parts, and it worked great. - Dale

Jed the 1968 Nova bezels have no ribs or chrome edges. Just looking for another type of cleaner maybe someone had a good experiance with.

Thanks Dale I will give that a try. Mothers has a back to black cleaner for plastic. Anyone ever try that one?

I like using 3M pink Fill and Glaze. It's a old rubbing compound that works great on most plastics. It's like water on the cloth and does an amazing job.Not sure if you can still buy it, I bought several bottles years ago... <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/dunno.gif
