The paint shop constantly tried to get me to switch colors to something else.
He said Gold and White?? then mumbled something. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/hmmm.gif
What do you think?

they didn't think there was enough contrast between the plain white and the gold or the colors were too boring? they wanted to throw some blue tint in the white and maybe some metal flake and pearl flip flop in the gold. I would not have minded that but the kid stuck to his guns and the stock factory paint colors, (just applied in a different pattern)
I think it's a good combo.

Who do the paint shop guys think they are anyway? The customer gets what the customer wants. I am currently doing a 1955 Chevy truck custom with lots of body mods and he wants to paint it Sea Mist Green. I would never paint such a custom truck that original 1955 color, but it is not my truck and he is paying for it.

We need more pix! What are the wheels????
The pics do look good. The time spent getting the Vette insert to fit was worth it!
I think it would look great with some 14x7 Spyders

The wheels are still these..... working on getting something better, hopefully some Ansen Sprints.

we removed the body side molding and welded the holes shut so the sides of the car are sparse, what do you think of leaving the fender louvers unpainted ?

I love the color combo! When I painted Dave's motion camaro the classic copper with white stripes it absolutely POPPED!!!!! It was one of the cars people talked about just cuz it was so unusual. I think 200s wheels on the nova would be my choose.

Non SS Novas with the custom exterior package had all chrome gills. SS Novas had body colored gills with a strip of chrome showing on the back edge of each gill.
Or do it the way you like it.

I am just amazed how the kid has brought this project around, so much determination and hard work. When I was his age that would have been a waste of beer money.

the nova has been torn down for new motor, trans, rear, suspension and brakes, almost ready for final tweaks and wheel alignment after two years apart
Beautiful Nova! We should get these OG/DW cars together.

When we pulled off the front clip the original desert preserved cowl matched the 2012 outer repaint perfectly.

That term hasn’t been used by us. Not sure if upgrading brakes and suspension means pro touring, we’re keeping the 14” Ansen Sprints and don’t have an overdrive. Installed a 383 with Sniper FI . No changes to outside appearances. Rear gears are 3:73

I had to look it up, I don’t think we’ve reached that level- at least it’s not our intention.

When you think it’s going to take two to three months and you’re closing in on three years.
And these photos were all upright when I loaded them ☠️
