Im working on a 69 camaro 10D build - late 69 build date.
Attached is a pic of the subframe horn with what looks to be a date
I have not seen but 1 or date samples and was wondering if anyone has some to compare to AND/OR can help deciper this so we can put it back on the painted frame.

1st off, Eddie, I am very proud of you for figuring out how to post pix. Nicely done. Your foto is exceptional as well. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/whistle.gif
I would think that our friend from Latrobe would have an opinion on this. Brian has documented a bunch of frame markings over the years. Good luck!
BTW, don't you have that flea trap of yours back together yet? <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/dunno.gif <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/wink.gif

Here is my survivor. Date code is month, day, year (3 26 69)Camaro is April 1969 1st week, Van Nuys built. Orange inspection swipe, subframes were dipped with asphalt paint:

Different plants applied the frame dates uniquely - ie; vertical vs. horizontal and right-side-up vs. upside down. So, if you can see yours - clean it carefully until you can make out the sequence.
For example, the '70 Novas were right side up, driver's side, yellow, rolled through a stencil, with 'MAR 70' syntax. Yet, this '69 Camaro or Nova (??) is completely different, upside down, white, no letters:

That photo is from our 69 Granny Nova...our other 69 car has a similar style date stamp and orange paint mark.

I would estimate the numerals qre 1/2 to 3/4 of inch tall...might be able to measure them.
The Nova and Camaro frames are the same...perhaps you can use the slotted holes as a gauge and estimate from there.

tom, i did use the frame hole to gauge it and its about 3/4
inch high....ill go with that for the stencil
appreciate the help - considering we already cleaned the frame up - the
only thing i have to go on relate to the date is the pic....so im having some difficulty
in deciphering the date code. My bad for not cleaning it up better.
Any thoughts on what it might say? I see a 11 and i also see a 369

Enio45,
I was just playing around with your image this morning.
These stamps do not always come out as crisp as on the granny Nova. Some times there is more paint around the numbers than in the number.
Looking at the image I see voids and some edges of the numbers. Based on that, here is what it looks like to me. ****does not make much sense based on your build date.*** unless it is day - month - year.
Top is from a negative image.
Fonts shapes are estimates.
Then first number, the '0', looks deformed to me on the left side. But there looks to be good edge lines at the top an bottom. Just like the '6' in 69.
The '5' is probably not quite the right shape, but not much else will fit into the void. Notice the edge lines in the bottom center and at the upper right of the curve.
But just to show that this is guess work, a case could be made for '4' in place of the first '1'.
