very neat car. did they replace the whole exhaust when they put headers on it? i thought all SS454 cars got chrome exhaust tips?
weird shrinkage on the pass fender too. looks like a repair was done or something.

Tail lights look to new.
Speakers on the console beside the seat belt containers?
I wonder what those bolts and nuts are for on the trunk floor near the seat area?
Most likely a non posi car as there is no sticker on the trunk lid.
Never seen a bench seat muncie shifter with a console car?
Nice solid car for the Green on Green Fans.
I wonder if the build sheet is still tucked away somewhere.
Look @ that stance,it's ready for the Mud Bogs.
Those are Air shock valves in the trunk floor.
Missing rear tail pipe resonators and chrome tips.
CRV is a 3:31 Posi.

Dumb question, but is that factory red primer behind the passenger front kick panel? Really shows up with the green.

Not a dumb question and yes that is exactly what it is. Arlington cars are well known for have a bright orangish red primer everywhere on the car. If you look at many of the photos you can see it coming through many of the lightly painted areas such as the door hinge area, door latch pin, trunk area near the front, inside the trunk lid gavity, etc, etc. I love these unrestored cars as they offer so much information on the way things were actually done on the assembly line. I have a twin to this car (other than bench seat auto) in the shop but from the Atlanta plant, also a survivor.

Not uncommon to have malibu door panels on an SS, or even one of each. Whatever was handy on the line.

More common than not on these cars.

This looks like a really nice, old, honest survivor. It has 54,000 miles and headers on it. It is what it is. I'm sure parts were changed over the last 42 years. They were just cars back in the day. I wouldn't kick it out of my garage. JMO, Ed
That's true for most 1970 454 chevelles, because the translation to the new Z-15 454 option over the Z-25 396 option was not completely understood in the beginning, and they didn't specifically call out the B-22 SS door emblems on the buildsheet.
Chevrolet picked up on the omission mid production, and issued a TSB telling the line to start including SS door emblems from now on.
dont the vin numbers on the block look strange.Like there are 2 9s stamped over each other. Is that normal

As an aside, my '74 Chevelle was crashed in the assembly plant (Oshawa).
Had bondo in the fender when we received it (I'm the original owner).
