I recall seeing this car on-line somewhere in the last year or so and think it is pretty neat. Does anyone know it or the dealer selling it?

Ooops, sorry about that! I must have still had that link in my browser from reading that thread. Here is the correct link to the '67 Camaro SS396

Style points to the resto shop for not butchering it with spoilers, cowl hood, Z/28 stripes.
Either it originally had hub caps or the wheels should be painted black.
Rare car, nicely done.
Stunning car,done well....Love that interior.

Amen! I'll bet it was pretty hard for the shop not to put at least a trunk spoiler on it. I wonder how many people think it "can't be a real SS because it doesn't have spoilers." Or Rally wheels.
The bench seat/column shift is too cool. Imagine who ordered it that way or who would have bought it off the lot new. The kids and race-minded types would have been turned-off by that setup so it may have been an older guy (or lady) who just wanted a "sporty" driver.

One could claim that those PO1 wheel covers were 'dealer installed' and the dealer neglected to paint the wheels black when the dogs came off. But yeah, it would look that much better to our educated eyes to see black wheels! They also restrained themselves in not putting redlines on it. Several 'bold' decisions (omitting the typical eye candy) were made during this restoration but they all make the car that much more interesting.

Vintage pics show it with SS wheel covers with white rims, so I'm thinking it had dog dishes originally? Also, they put an SS horn button on it when it had the original "Camaro" button in the vintage pics. I love the car, but wish they had spent just a little more time on the undercarriage details. What a great cruise night car...if anyone is local, I'd pay for your time and expenses to go and take a look at it for me <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif

I'm close but '69's are my area of expertise, not sure I would be comfortable giving a proper inspection report on a '67...

----I am so easily confused, it seems! How do we figure the delivery date? He ordered the car and yet didnt take delivery until long after 68s were sitting in the showrooms??? I know you guys will get me on the right track, but I dont get it. I dont doubt anything about the car and it is very cool and a nice resto as well......Bill S

What vintage pics? Show us! BTW, what are "SS" wheel covers?

Being a '69 guy would be OK, as I would just want a condition report. I know '67's pretty well and can cover that part <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif I'm going to call them tomorrow to ask some questions.
"before" pics are on the restoration website. The SS covers look like those on an early Chevy 2 or Chevelle.

A-ha, I remember now. The SS wheel covers seen here are '65 Impala types? We know Chevrolet used extra '63 Impala SS wheel covers in both '67 and '68 so perhaps the '65 style seen on this car before were owner added? Maybe the dealer had them in the parts department and snapped them on there on the lot or at the time of sale?

Looked closely at the pics as I was prepared to buy the car, but I noticed that the left quarter panel and rocker have been changed...and all of the front end sheetmetal. Strange for what appears to be a rust free shell???? I called the dealer and of course, it is "all original metal"

Mark....are you talking about pic #150 in the restoration link? Also, I was wondering why the the front end is showing black body parts....The last front end I put on a '69 was more than a few years ago( when I was going to school)... so I saw that and was wondering if the restoration process has changed or did they just get some NOS parts and put them on.

If you look at pic 174 you can see that the left quarter panel is black in the door jamb and the rocker is black too. I then blew up some pics and noticed that the stamping on the right quarter has the correct full "phone receiver" shape but the left quarter has the partial receiver stamping. I am talking with them to get more details.

got ya.....take a look at the pic I referenced and look at the weld mark about 1/3 of the way down from the roof line by the window. I coud be wrong (wouldn't be the first of the last time ) but it looks to me as if the entire 1/4 panel was replaced at some point. Might of been hit hard, which could explain the rocker too. Not trying to knock the car because I do like it, especially the color combo and drive train, but just curious. The Camaro font on the emblem on the 67's is pretty cool.

Yep, saw that too. The lead has been removed to seam in the new quarter. You can see the lead is still there on the other side. You can also see the rivets used to position the left rocker panel while they weld it into place. I really like the car, but suspect it has been lightly decked also given the pad pic. just too many little things wrong for me, but a nice car for $42,500. It was listed at $80K 2 years ago <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/smile.gif
